upon completion of their BS in Kinesiology, they would only have 21 hours of graduate coursework to complete their Masters.

Message From the Chair of Health and Kinesiology

Dr. Scott Marzilli The Spring schedule is out and registration starts in just a few days. I hope you are pleasantly surprised with the number of classes and additional sections offered. Please make sure to meet with your Academic Advisor so you know what classes you need before the rush starts. Good luck!

If you have looked at the schedule, you may have noticed that we are offering a wider selection of courses this semester. In addition to more coursed to choose from, we are also offering more sections with varying times and days. We did this to help you with your schedule and to make sure you could get all the classes you need to graduate in a timely manner. You may also notice there are fewer ITV classes offered simultaneously on the Longview and Palestine campuses. This choice was made because I found that UT Tyler (home campus) students were driving to Longview and Palestine

to take classes via ITV “only” because the classes offered here at UT Tyler were full. Therefore, in a class of 8-10 students at Longview, only 2-3 students were actually living in Longview and other 7-8 students drove there from Tyler. This was not the intent of the ITV classes. I know this negatively impacts some of you and we are trying to work out a way to both not limit enrollment at UT Tyler as well as increase availability of course offerings on both the Longview and Palestine Campuses. Please be patient as we work through this. If you have any concerns please stop by my office to talk. Take Care!

Tip of the Month I urge all of you to meet with your academic advisor as quickly as possible so that you are one of the first to register for classes this Spring. If you are new here to UT Tyler you may not know that most core Health and Kinesiology courses fill within 3-4 days. Also, make sure to register for both the lecture and lab sections if both are required for graduation. It really does make both more enjoyable. I hope that helps. Dr. Marzilli
