Your Best Welcome to McKesson UK
At McKesson UK we want to give our new colleagues the ‘best welcome’ to our business.
This is important for 2 main reasons:

• Fulfilling their new role as soon as possible
It’s your role as a line manager to ensure that a thorough and structured induction is prepared for your new colleague.
Your colleague’s best welcome doesn’t start or end on their first day. It starts with the great candidate experience that you provide throughout the interviewing process and it doesn’t ever end!
The first three months of induction should introduce and engage your colleague in who McKesson is and help them to achieve in their role.
We've got some new tools to help you create a great induction for your new colleague.
The Best Welcome site on the hive
This is the one stop shop for new starters and hiring managers. There is a wealth of need-to-know information, from maps of the building to holiday forms. Hiring managers can also find the tools they need to make sure they are giving the best welcome that they can.
The Manager's Toolkit
Our new manager's toolkit contains loads of advice on how to develop skills and behaviours to help you in your role as a manager within McKesson. There is also a walk through of the colleague journey with an article which takes you through some helpful principles to give your new starter a great induction experience.
One of the principles discussed in the manager's toolkit is to plan a structured induction. So we've created a new McKesson blue induction schedule with some ideas to help you do this.
Best Welcome Event
Over the last few years we have welcomed over 750 colleagues to Support Centre at our monthly induction events.
The Best Welcome event introduces colleagues to who we are as a business, where we have been and where we are going. Most importantly, the event is about inspiring them with our vision to be the UK's number one healthcare partner of choice!
Colleagues will continue to be automatically enrolled onto a Best Welcome event when they join the business - so watch out for an invite for your new starter!
