Make the Switch What is it? The Make the Switch project was designed to help kick-start a digital culture within McKesson. The name Make the Switch signifies the change involved in moving from traditional, manual processes to more efficient, digital systems and tools. The 'Digital Hero' initiative was created to upskill colleagues in using the digital tools available to them through peer assisted learning. Throughout 2018 multiple sessions on a range of digital skills from Excel to Slack were ran with over 200 colleagues receiving training. The sessions were over subscribed with requests for additional Excel and Digital Marketing sessions still outstanding. With the implementation of office 365 and the burning platform for change in McKesson UK, the project team have decided that the next stage of Make the Switch needs to be a more focussed and accelerated attempt at continuing this upskilling to affect a culture change. Our previous Digital Heroes have left a great legacy for the Make the Switch project, but there is still work to be done to create a truly digital culture at McKesson UK.

That's where you come in. The Switch programme is designed to make use of talented, motivated colleagues to upskill their colleagues through peer assisted learning techniques, and affect a digital culture change. The programme will also provide them with the opportunity to gain project management skills on a cross functional project.

The ‘Switch’ objectives 1.

Affect a digital culture change across your department in McKesson UK Creating a digital culture 4. Obtain stakeholder ‘buy in’ for next cohort of talent

2. Create a network of digital experts and enable a forum for colleagues to bring new digital ideas / solutions to the ‘business’ and colleagues

3. To maintain engagement with McKesson AG colleagues, sharing learnings and progress

Make the Switch Programme Plan The Make the Switch development programme lasts around six months. Each cohort must be able to demonstrate that they have positively contributed to creating a more digitally savvy culture. As a minimum they will be required to learn a new digital skill or become proficient in a particular tool and then share that knowledge with colleagues.

Timeline of activities The six month programme can be summarised by four main phases: • Registration: Colleagues who are recognised as talent and request development are nominated by their FD • Learn a skill: The newly recruited Digital Heroes learn a new digital skill or become proficient in a digital tool • Teach a skill: Using their new skills, the Digital Heroes will be required to arrange and deliver at least three training sessions, or digital alternatives for colleagues

• Evaluation and final report: In order to graduate, each Digital Hero will be required to demonstrate how their chosen digital skill or tool and upskilling sessions has contributed to creating a digital culture at McKesson UK. Findings will be presented to the Exec sponsor.

Requirements of participants As the programme supports a project which is directly contributory to the business priority of digitalising the business, it is important that participants are committed to the programme, giving the necessary time to complete the objectives. Participants are required to carry out the following activity: • Initial kick-off meeting • Learning a new digital skill to a competent teaching level • Preparation for Digital Hero training sessions • Train the Trainer development session • Team meetings, collaboration and support for fellow team members • Facilitation of three Digital Hero training sessions • Reflective and evaluative presentation to sponsor • Handover of project to cohort 2

Make the Switch Who can get involved? The programme is aimed at high performing individuals who display the ICARE values and who prioritise their personal development. A flare for digital skills and an enjoyment of digital tools is a plus but not a necessity. The individual should be committed to the business priority of digitalising the business. The ideal candidate will be looking to grow in the following areas: • Digital skills • Understanding of business objectives • Networking/relationship building

• Presenting/training/public speaking • Team-working and collaborating • Project management • Dealing with ambiguity • Working under pressure

How can you get involved? Colleagues who are identified by their line manager as high performing and looking for development opportunities can be nominated for the programme by their HRBP and functional director. If you're interested in being a part of the next cohort of the Digital Hero programme let your line manager know.

Applying If you have been nominated for the Switch project by your functional director please complete the application form. You can find the form at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/digitalhero or by scanning the QR code below.

Make the Switch Digital Hero (DH) role profile Why me? You will have a passion for digital, combined with an interest in technology and how this enables us to deliver the best experiences / efficiencies for our colleagues. You will be inspired to see McKesson become a modern, digital and innovative business and desire to be a part of a positive culture change that achieves this.

What will I need to do? The core objectives for each Digital Hero are: 1. Affect a digital culture change across your department in McKesson UK 

The DH will be required to learn a new digital skill – this can be discussed with the DH line manager or one of the previous ‘Make the Switch’ members.

The DH will be responsible for sharing their learnings via 3 x Digital Hero sessions. These sessions will be organised and delivered by the identified DH.

2. Create a network of digital experts and enable a forum for colleagues to bring new digital ideas / solutions to the ‘business’ and colleagues 

The DH will act as a ‘go to’ person for any colleague wishing to bring a new digital idea / tool to the business. (This does not include IT / online ‘business as usual’ projects.)

The DH’s will discuss all new ideas / tools and agree a way of implementing / training them to colleagues.

3. To maintain engagement with McKesson AG colleagues, sharing learnings and progress 

The DH will regularly update / inform McKesson EU of new learnings, challenges and ways of working in UK

4. Obtain stakeholder ‘buy in’ for next cohort of talent 

The DH’s will evaluate work and present back to the project sponsor with at least 1 idea / activity on how they wish to continue culture change. This should also include ways of working that continue into next cohort of digital heroes.

The previous cohort will not tell you how each of these objectives should be delivered. They will share any official processes, learnings and challenges but the way in which the programme is delivered will be the responsibility of the current cohort. It has been set up in this way so that new ideas are brought to the table and the business can continue to evolve digitally. The DH will not be managed by anyone, it will be a “develop as you go” approach to keep things moving.

Why are we doing this? The programme contributes to the development and upskilling of colleagues by: • Being a development opportunity & stretch project • Creating a network of cross-functional digital experts that will continue to share their expertise even after they have passed on to the next cohort of colleagues • Developing a culture of peer-assisted learning
