4 (1) The Unobuntu Thusong Centre was branded in and outside with banners promoting the celebration of Freedom Day in memory of Madiba. (2) & (3) Zwelethemba community came in numbers to share the celebrations even with more youth people coming in to be spoiled with various activities and entertainment for FREE! (4) A sneak-preview to a production called Sbong’Amaqhawe (meaning honouring our heroes) written by the Mr. Macebo Kolo. A creative piece that highlights contribution of young comrades in the struggle, especially fighting against Bantu Education. (5) Lovers of music were also given a taste of “Local-IsLekker” through music, dance and poetry. (6) The Centre Manager (Mr. Lizo Paul) was the official Programme Director (M.C) for the day and he did an outstanding job from the beginning until to the end. (7) Mr. Victor Rampeng is a motivational speaker and ex-prisoner from Polsmoor. He motivated youngsters to STOP illegal activities and substance abuse, he also encouraged them to take their studies serious as “Education Is the Key to Success”. In moment of silent: he also paid tribute to some foreign internationals who died in the recent xenophobia attacks all over South Africa.

Entertainment: After all the formalities, audience was entertained from drama to dance, from dance to music, from music to poetry. Various performing arts groups and artists around the municipality (i.e. Paarl, Ashton, Robertson, etc) took part in this wonderful event to celebrate a wonderful life of Nelson Mandela. Everyone especially senior citizens were dinned and pampered to wrap-up.
