HAVANA Havana by Camila Cabello is the song that I used to listen 2 years ago - before studying abroad. My colleagues usually played the video clip in the office. The name of the city - Havana has truly impressed me. I never thought that I would have a chance to visit the city until the fall of 2018 when I set my feet on the streets of Havana. Havana was founded in 1519 by the Spanish. By the 17th century, it had become one of the Caribbean’s main centres for ship-building. Although it is today a sprawling metropolis of 2 million inhabitants, its old centre retains an interesting mix of Baroque and neoclassical monuments, and a homogeneous ensemble of private houses with arcades, balconies, wrought-iron gates and internal courtyards. Because of the historic role played by building ordinances during the 19th and 20th centuries, Old Havana’s urban and architectural morphology has remained virtually unchanged. [unesco]

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS Firstly, I would like to thank Tu and Dung, who accompanied me in the trip. Without them, all of this would not have happened. Moreover, I would like to thank my family, especially my mom who believes in me always and encourages me to chase my dreams. Of course, I cannot forget to thank my uncle who lent me financial support so that I could go abroad. I remember the quote which I read a few years ago on Human of New York. There was an old man who said “Travel when you’re young! Even if you have to borrow money to do it.” My life is made up of long journeys. Thousand miles will lead me home.
