Letter from the Editor This issue is a thank you for the great feedback of our first two issues by continuing to celebrate creative artists through a viewing of their work (which is always the goal at Grace Galore). This issue was for photographers and four photos of their choice but there will be other opportunities for other creative artists with other mediums. I am so happy that people decided to share their work with this magazine and they are all so talented and special so thank you to them. Please support them and their work. Our upcoming issues will be open discussions through mediums about gender identity and what words like “womanhood” and “manhood” mean to us. Have you rejected these outdated/exclusionary terms or reclaimed them through a journey of self? The primary reason I mention this is so early is because I want other issues to reflect this issue – I want the majority of it to be submissions from talented, influential creative artists who want to share their voice and contribute to a bigger conversation in a space for them.
So, take in these wonderful photographers, support them, and think about doing the same for the upcoming issues. We want to hear your voice and support you and your creativity here at Grace Galore. Enjoy! 2

“I’ve been taking photos since I was given a phone with a camera. I would take pictures of things that I thought were beautiful or intriguing to me and I thought that was enough until I was introduced to photo editing apps. The first app I was introduced to was VSCOcam, that is where I learned exposure, contrast, and saturation. I also learned how much was too much or if a photo could handle more color. I taught myself how to do double exposures, shutter, and more. I’ve stopped taking as many photos as I used to because of school, but every once in awhile I will pull out my phone, capture a photo (multiple times), and edit it so that I can post on Instagram.”

“Photography and film have always been my biggest passion. It’s always been how I've comprehended the world around me. From the time I bought my first 20 thcentury photography book, I was captivated by what people could capture with a camera… equipment never mattered nor education to take a beautiful photo (despite how some would say). It takes being in that moment, being in tune with what's around, and the relation to the environment with one’s physical being. I love very much in those moments-- the moments in between those that carry one through the day…those are the moments I capture the most. Its spoken word through imagery, that’s how would most describe [my work].”

“My name is Jenna, I’m 21 years old. I’m also
Black, white, and Puerto Rician. Modeling has been a passion of mine for so long. I never
took it into action until last year, when I
found I love to be in front of the lens. The art I create, I love it! It’s like no others! It’s me, Jenna Marie!”

“The sky represents beauty untamed. It’s calming and tranquil to see how beautiful the sky looks and to see it change. I take pictures of the sky every chance I get. I take the most pictures in the fall because of the clouds -when the sun shines through those cloud and creates the
ambiance and the spectrum of colors that dance on the clouds to make the purple, pinks, and oranges…and then just like that, it is gone to really be duplicated the same
way. I just love the sky.”
