A simple oversized shirt dress is easy to throw on when popping down to a morning lecture. Skater shoes are a go to of mine for comfort and style; obsessed with the fabric and colour of these Delaware Plimsoles. A rucksack is an always- books are too heavy and there is usually a coffee in my hand. This suede rucksack will keep you organized; a laid back accessory with a luxurious twist. Lastly a pair of hexagon hoops add a small touch of decor to a minimal outfit, lightweight so you wont get annoyed going from lecture to seminar. A subtle touch that completes the outfit.
This ASOS black jumpsuit is the key to multiple outfits. On a student budget, signature wardrobe pieces are essential to keep you stylish while not going hungry. From Bar to Seminar (most likely in revserse order), chop and change decorative pieces of clothing and accessories around one main garment. Switch your burnt orange roll neck and chelsea ankle boots to a sequin jumper and sock boots; if its a really tight month, just chnage up one... A clever way to dress on a student budget.
As a fashion student no matter where or when, there is always an underlying rule that you have to look at least a little bit ‘cool’. There is also the ‘try hard’ no go zone. Getting a balance is crucial, especially when you study at The Fashion Institute of Technology, situated in central Manhattan. This outfit keeps you on the go and practical, with an extra shot of ‘cool’. Boyfriend cut jeans are my thing. When I put on a pair of skinnies it just doesn’t feel right anymore, jegging and ugg days are long gone. A high neck sparkle sweat may seem dressy but looks simply chic when paired with a baggier style jean and a statement brogue. These brogues are perfect for such look; classic with a block colour sole, keeping it not too serious. I would throw on this check parka coat to pull the look together; adding pattern and slouch over the tight sparkles. “An Americano to go”.
When it turns to evening dressing, I do have slightly schizophrenic style. Opting for bold colours... jazzing it up a bit. At university I don’t wear dresses, just dressy tops and cute little heels. Again taking a staple item from my wardrobe like boyfriend jeans, but taking it up a notch. This SALE sequin vest would be perfect for a cocktail at Happy Hour, layering it over the jeans gives a feminine yet more laid back look. Pocket details and slits are a happy medium, making the outfit chic evening and not too over the top. These cute pink velvet Mary Janes give me a bit of height but allow me to dance all night due to the after effects of Happy Hour; although I have thrown in pink again, the blue jeans break it up. Accessories are slightly more minimal with a simple black Whistles clutch you cant go wrong; the perfect size and shape. Then top it off with these cute tassel earrings; if they are too much I would go for a simple silver hoop.
@gracieasos ASOS provides me with accessible option at a reasonable price. No matter when or what, I will 90% of the time turn to ASOS, especially at university. I know how to style myself and others. I would be the perfect brand embassador. (I wore the cape back kimono crop top to a seminar, several girls asked me where it was from. The next week at least 3 of my classmates were wearing my top.) I have a presence and style that has a knock on effect. I tend to lead, while others follow.
