STREET STYLE
A recent trend, a Facebook newsfeed filler and simple excuse to be hairy. Sculpted into animals and utilized as a garden; I wanted to analyze the beard hype that has been lingering on many gentleman's faces the past few years. I wanted to show and demonstrate the relationship between beard style, cut and colour with the individuals clothing choice.
The ‘Strawberry Blonde’ Face Hugger. A gentleman who is style conscious but doesn't’t intentionally make a scene, his facial hair reflects this. The length is mid, slightly of the chin but not making a huge statement; coinciding with his subtle style. Captured at Moma, NYC, an art appreciator.
Smart, clean cut, smooth lines and style conscious.
Dressed to impress; maintained facial hair, ‘goaty’ style, wants to be noticed.
Laid back parker: explorer beard, long in length and not hugely maintained.
Statement style with p edge; beard sits under on. Stands out from th Snapped at COW.
Maintained moustache over beard. Snapped working for Paul Smith. Brand representative; British heritage, English gentleman.
Snapped at Rough Trade; creative with laid back but maintained style. Statement beard without trying.
Stylish business man, maintaining professionalism with an edge. Short beard to reflect serious position.
European working in Aldo New York. Style is important; accessorize, suited and booted. Very particular style, very particularly clean cut beard
‘Indie’ UO employee, muted colour palette, minimal clothing. Minimal hair shaped around chinUnderstated.
‘Aging’ beard, unafraid. Black, grey colour palette. Smart, with casual accessories. Works at Charlotte Olympia, NY. Knows his stuff.
Styled from head to toe- rings, books and glasses all a conscious decision. ‘Cool Nerd’man bun and framing beard. Long ‘Hobo’ beard, not afraid to be ginger, not afraid to dress well but relaxed attitude. Snapped in Newcastle.
HERO TO ZERO Analyzing Topman (hero) and USC (zero) initially had a clear outcome, however when researching the market it was not exactly what we had determined. Stripping back the brand and finding the core issues and strengths to why such were a HERO or Zero brand had many positive learning outcomes.

COLOUR STORY A combination of colours derived from natural pigments and skin defects. Albinism, vitiligo, black, bruises, veins. In keeping with the ‘Imperfection’ macro trend, spotted on WGSN. Something that was seen as alien to many but is now embraced as beauty in the fashion industry. “Alienated Pigment”
Imagery has been painted, drawn, photographed, taken from magazines and manipulated. All which has been processed in my sketch book.
A brand interpretation of my colour story. &otherstories brand imagery and packaging that has been scanned, edited and manipulated. A colour palette that could be transferred onto garments, accessories and even cosmetics. All aspects are inspired by the brand including layout, edit and selected imagery.
OBJECT OF DESIRE A low tech approach to creating a successful image takes wit. One simple yet affective decision can make an image. No need for post production or a huge budget; only a bag of skittles, a witty photographer and a camera. Imperfection can lead to an increase in desirability. I dare you‌

Snapping ‘in the moment’, is much easier when you can quickly upload them to Instagram. This way I can capture a moment and link the images to my blog, then expand and reflect further.
INTERNSHIP Christian Cowan-Sanluis
THE SELFIE HAT (worn by Lady Gaga.
Interning at Christian Cowan-Sanluis, so far, is my most memorable and best experience in fashion. Working at smaller independent designers means I am able to become much more involved in processes. For 2 weeks Christian and I blasted music in his Soho apartment while dancing around and eating Pret almost every lunch. There obviously was a lot of hard work too, but this boy knows how to have fun and when. While working for Christian I have pattern cut, constructed full garments for celebrities and music video shoots. Additionally I opted to hype up his Instagram by devising a business plan to market himself and his brand; when and what to post and what to say. Expressing that every word and image has to portray his brand essence. I have been requested back as much as possible to help Christian with up coming shoots and collections. Hopefully when he is huge he will know who to turn to in the future.
thank you
