and people living their own lives. I don’t understand why politicians can’t come to an equal compromise to bring an end to these unnecessary acts of violence. While the political system is trying to wrap their heads around adults killing innocent people, now we have children added to this horrible act of violence.
I cry every time I think about this. My question to God has been how do I protect my family? I know that I can purchase a firearm but how does that help the cause. He answered me by saying, “Pray, continuously.” “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12 KJV. As you pray, pray for protection over your family, your friends, and the world. Also, to, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

He also stated have no fear, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
1 John 4:18 KJV
I’ve had such a difficult time focusing my thoughts for this article. I knew what I’ve wanted to say for quite some time. I thought if I could just sit with it for a moment the word would come but still I’ve waited. Knowing what to say while hoping what I’m saying won’t be offensive to some of the readers, well here it goes.
I am not a politician nor am I an activist, I don’t work for a gun lobbyist, nor have I protested for a cause. However, I am a human, I’m a mother, a wife as well as an educator. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around these acts of mass shootings happening all over the world. I don’t know how easy or difficult it is to purchase certain firearms. However, it appears to be easier than what I’ve imagined. I also don’t understand why some people refuse to seek help when they are in need.
I don’t understand why someone would walk into a room with every intention to cause harm to innocent children
Know that God’s hand of protection surrounds us. I had to remind myself what God’s word says concerning my life. I’ve been afraid to go to work and just doing simple things outside of my home. But I had to remind myself of what His word says, which has been my comforter during these troubling times. He also shared with me to remember to love my neighbor as myself. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37–39). I’m going to walk in Love because I don’t know who may need some unconditional love.
While the politician and the lobbyist do what they do I’m going to continue to do what I need to do and that’s Pray and Love. If you find yourself in the same situation that I found myself in, remember to pray without ceasing and continuously show the Love of God.
