A Christmas Message from The Rector

Greetings and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our celebration of the Nativity is a reminder of the birth of hope and a response to the mystery of how “love came down at Christmas.” Whether you live in a place of curiosity or certainty about God and things spiritual, you are in the right place. Thank you for including Grace-St. Luke’s on your journey. At Christmas time, your presence for worship, as you are able, and the offering of any additional financial gifts will be extraordinary blessings to support the mission of the Church. Yearend gifts may be offered online or by offering plate to offset certain unforeseen operations and maintenance expenses. Along with your time and talent, all gifts will support our vision to be a thriving community of hope, belonging, and healing through worship, parish life, and service, and who rejoices in the love of Jesus to transform the world. On behalf of our 2020 Stewardship Campaign Co-Chairs, Allison and Steven King, I also extend my appreciation for all 2020 pledges to invest in life at Grace-St. Luke’s. In conversation with the treasurer and finance committee and the vestry, I am mindful that every pledge amount matters. If you have not offered your 2020 pledge, please do so by December 31. This will allow us to finalize the new year operating budget for worship supplies, music, formation, fellowship, pastoral care, outreach administration, personnel, healthcare benefits, utilities, and facilities maintenance by the January 3-4 Vestry Retreat. Pledges may be made online at www.gracestlukes.org/pledge or by paper pledge form for the offering plate. I look forward to celebrating Christmastide with you and moving soon into the season of Epiphany. Meanwhile, please contact my office or another member of the clergy to explore how to become more engaged in life at Grace-St. Luke’s or to share what we might do to support your journey as a follower of Jesus.
