Preparing for Sunday and Beyond Looking Ahead
Friday greetings, Grace-St. Luke’s! Sunday, September 27: Tune in at 9:15 a.m. for a 30-minute virtual formation offering followed by 10:30 a.m. worship, 5:30 p.m. prerecorded music concert, and 6 p.m. worship outdoors.
9:15 Formation: Resilience in Times Like These with The Rev. Dr. Bill Harkins, Sunday, September 27. Tune in on Facebook & YouTube Live as the Rev. Dr Harkins offers a presentation, “Lonely in America: Psychological and Theological Perspectives on Isolation in an Age of Connection,” on resilience psychology and wisdom to support individuals and households through pandemics. 10:30 Worship, In Person or Livestream: Online reservations are required by noon on Saturday, September 26, by following this link , for limited-capacity seating. Join the ZOOM discussion of our September book, Crazy Christians: A Call to Follow Jesus, by our Presiding Bishop, the Most Reverend Michael Curry. Details available by following this link. 5:30 Prerecorded Music Concert. Tune in at 5:30 p.m. to Facebook or YouTube for a musical concert. This Sunday’s 5:30 p.m. prerecorded musical concert is by Memphis Symphony member and GSL regular, Robert Patterson. He’ll play music for French Horn accompanied by Patrick A. Scott and Debbie Smith. 6 p.m. Worship, Outdoors. The Right Reverend Phoebe A. Roaf, Bishop, has sanctioned the opportunity for faith communities to offer the Holy Eucharist outdoors. For Youth.This Sunday we will enjoy EYC from the comfort of our own homes. Join us for a Zoomat-home Scavenger Hunt with the prize of a Muddy’s Gift Card! 6th-8th grade with “gather” starting at 4 p.m. and 9th-12th grade following at 5 p.m. For Zoom information and more, contact Director of Youth Formation Amzie Williams .
In-Person Fellowship Survey. The Congregational Development committee is working to identify ways that we can gather while following safety protocols so that everyone feels comfortable. All parishioners are invited to complete this 2-minute, anonymous survey by Monday, October 5, to help us gauge readiness so we can plan events people want (and are ready) to participate in.
