Monthly Message Hey Division Three South!

Hope you had a great July! I know I did.

The title of this issue is "Summer Fun." You may be wondering why. Well, I was thinking about how, with all the planning we do for a "productive" summer, we sometimes forget that summer is meant to be a fun break. We've been working hard all year, and this break we all should all take some time to rest and recharge.

With July finished we've got August and September coming up!

I'm super psyched for the Senior year and all the wonderful recruitment ideas that you guys have been sharing with me, which I hope to see in action this fall.

How were your AP Scores? Hopefully academics isn't weighing to heavily on you all as we get ready to head back to school.

In any case, I hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer as a break from all the crazy we faced in 2021 and the amazing work that you all have done with your clubs this year.

KEEPING UP WITH K-FAM Circle K: Key Club for College Students Did you know that Key Club exists at a collegiate level? Well, it does! It's called Circle K International. Talk to graduating seniors about the club, and encourage them to join or start a club at their intended university. If they're not going to college, they can still join a Kiwanis Club!

The Thirst Project Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water. Why Water? By providing a community with safe drinking water, disease rates can drop by up to 88% virtually overnight! Child mortality rates can drop up to 90%- overnight!

SERVICE PARTNERS

Members work together by sponsoring fundraising events and conducting service projects at their local children's hospitals. Contact your local CMN hospital and invite a representative to a club meeting to share ideas and create a partnership.

Since the 1940s, Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to make a positive impact in the lives of babies everywhere. Today, Kiwanis members continue that culture of service by supporting the March of Dimes all year long by hosting service projects, raising funds and educating communities about the crisis of preterm birth.

UNICEF is the only organization of the United Nations dedicated exclusively to children.

Working with other United Nations bodies, governments and nongovernmental organizations, UNICEF helps to provide for children’s needs in more than 150 developing countries through community-based services in primary health care, basic education and safe water and sanitation.
