An Eye and an Arrow Jaxon Kampf

.

I dedicate this memoir to my mum .

Two years ago in the middle of January with no snow and nothing to do my friend Andrew noticed a bow and arrow in my garage. When he mentioned it I came up with a terrific idea. I thought we should shoot something. So we did, I went to get some cardboard, glass, and some shacked up completely full Coke cans and we took it and put it against a tree and shot it so much that the cardboard had been torn in half, the glass was shattered, and the Coke can was completely empty. After a long while of beating the crap out of the poor box, bottle, and the can Andrew snook of to get a firecracker in his garage while I was not looking. When he came back he put the firecracker by me and set it off. It scared the hell out of me and made me shoot the arrow off in the distance and lose it. I was furious and told him that he was going to buy me a new arrow to replace that one. While he ignored me, he went to get some more firecrackers in his garage. In the meantime I found my sisters Barbie and put it on the ground and shot at it. It was a pretty excellent shot, it hit the Barbie right in the eye but the bad thing was it ricochet back and hit me in the eye. I looked at it and thought “Good thing I took out the spear tip and made it a dud.” Then I realised that I was hit by the plastic back where you drew it back to shoot. It looked pretty damn sharp. When Andrew came with the firecrackers back he noticed that I was on the ground. He asked in a normal voice, “Are you ok?” “No,” I fuzzed out of my mouth using my mind to figure out what to happen. “What happened?” he said in a normal voice again. “I shot myself.” He helped me stand up and bring me into his house because my Mom who was at home was really mad at me. My eye was getting puffy and when I looked into a mirror it looked like it was almost swollen shut. While I was worrying about what will happen me and my eye, Andrew had gone upstairs and gotten me an ice pack that felt like winter it was so cold. I thanked and asked him what we should do. “I think that you should probably go tell your mom,” Andrew said. “I will,” I told him, trying to think of what to say to her. I said goodbye and went back to my house and went to prepare for feeling stupid in front of my mom. The next afternoon after a night of headaches, not being able to see out of one eye, and my mom thinking that I was stupid, my mom took me to the hospital. After waiting in the waiting room for about a one hour a tall nurse with brown hair came in and told us to follow her. We walked down a long hallway at the end of the hall there was in big letters, a sign that read EYE EXAMINATION, underneath the sign there was a pair a really heavy looking wooden doors that we walked through, we walked into a room. She told us quote, “Wait here.”

“Oh my god, this is not cool we will be her until 10 o'clock,” I said to my mom. But right after I said that a Female doctor came in. “What seems to be the problem”, she asked. “I shot myself” I exclaimed feeling retarded. She pulled out a large big black, metal, fancy looking contraption to look at my eye. “It does not look like the eye is scratched” she said reluctantly. She left then came back and gave my mom a slip to get medicine for the headache and said that the eyesight would come back within a short amount of time. “Wow”, I said. “I am lucky I did not hit myself in the eye with the tip of the arrow.” I thought that it would have been a lot worse now that I think of it, if my eye lid had been completely open I would probably be blind and that would ruin a lot of things in life. For example I probably could not play sports because you need hand EYE coordination and my eye would ruin that. Although shooting yourself with an arrow hurts quite a bit I learned a valuable lesson, look at the warnings on the side of the box before you use the bow and arrow, since I did not do that at the time when I had the bow I Googled it. And it said this, this is not a toy this is a weapon use with parental vision if under the age of 16, I was not 16 I was 11.
