T o my parents, Marie-Clair and Roland Python
It was a sunny sunday morning. All my family was in the church. If you don’t know it, in Switzerland when a member of your family have 16 years old, they have a catholic religious celebration. Today, it was Julien’s catholic religious celebration. Julien 16 year old, 1 meter and 90 centimetres, brown hair and brown eyes is my big brother. He was in front of the church with some friends that are in the same school as him. There was also a parish priest. We were trying to find him in the front in all the crowd. He was creasing his eyes to also find as, he never had a good vision and had glasses. However he didn’t take his glasses for the ceremony, I don’t see him often with his glasses. I was sitting next to Vincent my other big brother,14 years old, brown thick hair and brown eyes. “Oh no, we have two more hours until the end of the ceremony!” I said to Vincent “Yes, good luck, we’ll need it!” he responded, laughing. My big brother was dress with a white long dress. Whether they were speaking or singing. When they were singing we had to stand up and sing with them and when they were talking, we had to sit and listen to their boring blabla. However, with Vincent, we were together making fun of the other: “Hey look at this boy, he is so huge!” He said, laughing loudly so that everyone could hear. “Yeah! See that guy, there with black long hair, he is wearing pink shoes!” After two interminable hours of talking, singing and laughing with Vincent, it was the end. YOUPI! I've been waiting the end since two hours. Now I was tired and couldn’t feel my legs, they were like yogurts. When we get out of the church, outside, the lights blinds me. my mum said, “So Julien, now it’s time for the photo. Where do you want to take the photo? You have a place in mind that you like? ” Oh no! I didn’t knew that they were also photo and with the parish priest! They all had to do a photo with the parish priest and they were at least 50 to wait their turn. I didn’t want to know the answer of Julien so I went farther, leaving my family behind me. I sit against the trunk of tree. Thinking at something else, that could give me a smile. My friends were often calling me the smiling girl. I am a shy girl, but always smiling. When my little sister, Margaux, short brown hair, 10 years old, came and yelled at my, like all the times. “ Are you coming Pauline? If you are not here in 5 seconds we will leave you here.” I overtake my sister and together we went find our parents and left the church. When we arrived at our house, a big white house next to a prairie and a farm, my mum had to prepare dinner for all the guests who were coming. When the guests arrived, I never knew why, but they were all saying “Oh Julien, congratulation, you did a great job!” Why? Everybody can sing and listen to the annoyed old parish priest, it was not logical. At dinner, Vincent had a miraculous idea, Vincent always have stupid idea, and this time it was a contest. We had to drink as much as possible of bottle of one litter and a half until the end of the meal. It was a good distraction and I immediately accept the contest. “Do you think that we can do it?” I asked Vincent “I don’t know, but let’s do it just for fun!” Answered Vincent we start to drink one bottle of ice tea, one of water and one more bottle of coke. After, my sister and my cousin came to help us. My cousin and Margaux are always involved in our games, they are so comic mainly my cousin. We drink three more bottles. Now, the adult start to ate the cheese for the third plate. I don’t really like cheese, some kinds of cheese are like jelly and blue. We keep drink bottle, one. After the cheese it was time for my favourite part of the meal and of course for everyone else; the dessert. MIAM! We had ice cream with a piece of cake and many choices of biscuits. Now, don’t ask me why, our grandfather and
our uncle gave Julien some present: a watch, money, (I don’t remember the other present). I was looking at Julien sadly, either Vincent, Margaux and me didn’t have some present. We drink two more bottles. When we finish the dessert the parents were still talking like all the time at the end of the meal. They were talking of anything, we benefit to continue drinking our last bottle. This moment I will always remember it, Vincent and me speed to the toilet we didn’t want to walk up the stairs to go the toilet in the second floor. We are very lazy. I wanted to reach first the toilet, but my brother is bigger than me and faster than me so I had to run upstairs. When I get out of the toilette, the guests were leaving. We had to do a serie of kisses which duration about 10 minutes. My grandfather gives as some chocolate snacks. They always gives us snacks when we see them. Unhappily, Now it was the worst time; clean up the table and the kitchen and look if any guest forget something; My grandmother always forget something after they have come in our house. However, my brother and I were happy. We drank at all 10 bottles of 1 litter and a half in maybe 3 hours with the help of our sister and cousin! They were only a little, big, enormous problem our stomach was heavy. When we walk or do only one step our stomach was hurting so much. After, I went to bed. I couldn’t sleep, it was a terrible night. It was just horrible. When I walk up this morning, I was sick I had a headache and was feeling very bad and tired after this long journey. Vincent was not feeling bad, after school he was around me, playing, finishing his homework, playing piano I was looking at him, I know that it will be the last time that I did a contest to drink the more bottle until the end of the meal, and next the next time that my brother will propose me a contest I will first look if there is any consequence. However, I will still remember this sunny journey in the church and this contest who was at the time also very funny and distractive.
After two hours in the church, I was tired. Finally when we arrived at home, it was lunch time and we had guests to spend time, my brother had a gorgeous idea, a contest. Pauline Python was born in Switzerland she lived five years in Bulgaria and is now living in Poland.
