My general intention was to keep to a neutral palette that reflected colours which are inspired from Scotlandâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s weather and terrain. I also intend forthese materials to excentuate the mixture of dark and light woods used within the space.

The desk, designed by â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Pinch Studiosâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;, will be used for room service amenities and will be an acceptable unit to support an average flat screen television. The suspended bedside lights are made from a material similar to wool. The free standing lamp by the seating area is provided by Interior company Galletly & Tubbs.

),+9664 :<0;, )(;/9664 *65*,7; The wooden enclosure is the first thing that you walk into upon entering. Wardrobe and suitcase space is provided to the left and a wetroom to the right. The purpose of this enclosure was to create a modern rendition of a log cabin. It creates a theraputic mood with the warm wood tone and a sense of luxury; given that it is a three star hotel suite.

Given that the hotel is in a scenic location, it was intentional that this resembled the outdoor living to suggest encouragement of exploration for the hotel guests.

The hand basin and basin mixer are provided by â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Architonicâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; and the water controls are located underneath the sink to minimise wall clutter. Back lighting is located beneath the sink wall panel to differentiate materials.

A singular smoked glass panel separates the wardrobe area with the wetroom.Although privacy appears minimal, there is a probability that the guest you plan to share the suite with would be a partner.

INFORMATION The restaurant and lounge bar are located on the ground floor on the East Wing of the hotel. It is accessed from the right of reception.

The restaurant comprises of enough tables and seating to accomodate 136 people at once.

The kitchen and front-of-house staff communicate via the opening at the kitchen wall which opens out to the Main Restaurant.

Male and Female lavatories are located next to the kitchen to keep the sanitary and plumbing system in one designated area.

The concept for my restaurant was achieved through looking at a variety of modest interiors that I discovered during my research. In particular, I was looking into very simplistic interiors which adopted modern approaches as this is what I was aspiring to create. Something that recreated the comfort of home and a sense of wellbeing. One place of particular interest was â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;The Modern Pantryâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; - an upmarket eatery which has a number of branches located in London.

I wanted the restaurant to be invitingly light as the existing restaurant was overwhelmingly dark. I have maximized light to transform the space by introducing greater natural light. The windows in the private dining area have provided this by opening up the wall separating the two rooms. The feature wall is accentuated by up lighting and the suspended incandescent lamps above the tables are bound in wool; creating an additional feel of comfort.

The restaurant palette, which consists of very neutral shades of blue and a variety of wood tones, was chosen specifically to reflect the comfort obtained when utilizing the space. Variations of blue paint shades against the white cornicing helps to emphasize the roomsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; quality and give it an identity. Initially, cornicing was considered for the space so that it would give the feel of a traditional interior.

It creates a bold contrast against the contemporary materials and furnishings.
