Until August 28 Don’t let your children get bored at home! Join the School Age Center for weeks full of fun activities during the summer such as gardening, woodworking, fitness camp, outdoor activities, and cool weekly field trips. August 1 Outdoor Recreation takes you to the races! We are offering transportation to the mountain bike race put on by Stuttgart Outdoor Recreation. August 1 During the month of August, visit the Hohenfels Library and find our Mouse in the House! He’s up to something different each day, so pick up your Mouse in the House bingo card and have fun searching for him. For ages 3-10. August 3-5, 6-9 p.m. Now for those interested in officiating flag football, please join us at B317 Moore St. so we can certify you to support our program. August 4 - October 8, 5:30-9 p.m. The course includes blocks of instruction on safety, customs, traditions, shooting, proper weapons handling, laws and information on all game animals found in Germany. Contact Outdoor Recreation to sign up now. August 7, 7 a.m. Have you ever wondered what a bird feels like soaring above the clouds? Experience that same feeling by freefalling for 54 seconds from 14,000 feet above southern Bavaria. Contact Outdoor Recreation for more.
August 14 & 21, 6:45 p.m. Try your luck in a game of Texas Hold ‘Em and win BIG! Cost is $25 to buy in and $25 re-buys. Limited seating, sign up early the Zone! Open to ID card holders 18 years and older. August 15-16 We hike for 6 hours through the Partnachklamm and Reintal Valley and stay at the Reintalangerhütte. Day two: We continue up the steeper slopes to the Zugspitzplatt. August 15 Local restaurants and winemakers team up to serve up a wide range of topquality Franconian wines and regional specialties, providing a welcome opportunity for sparkling conversation in a relaxed summer atmosphere. August 19-20 Have the chance to visit the Grand Ducal Palace, the Museè de Art Moderne, and the Bock Casemates. At the memorial, pay your respects to the 5,071 buried soldiers, most who lost their lives at the Battle of the Bulge. August 22-23 Discover this beautiful eastern European city on an overnight trip where you have a day to spend in the city of Krakow and a day to spend at Auschwitz Museum. August 25, 5-6 p.m. The title for August is Blue Heaven by C.J. Box, a contemporary thriller. New members are always welcome! Stop by the Hohenfels Library to get your copy of the book today.
August 7, 5-9 p.m. Come spend the evening relaxing at the cozy Gut Löweneck Café located on the scenic Naab River. We will enjoy sampling a diverse selection of German and Italian wines. Sign up at Outdoor Recreation.
August 27, 6 p.m. Join the Hohenfels Post Gym and compete in the 3 events in an attempt to lift 1,000 pounds.

August 28, 7-11 p.m. Join us for some down home fun by warming up your boots and getting in the country spirit. Every 4th Friday of the month the Zone is hosting a Country Night.

August 8 Join Outdoor Recreation for a day trip to the famous Gäubodenfest – the city of Straubing’s historical and archetypal summer Volksfest!
August 30, 12-10 p.m. We’ll arrive in Regensburg early, allowing you time to visit your favorite parts of the city, maybe grab a bratwurst at the oldest stand in the world, before making your way into the grounds.

August 12, 5-9 p.m. An instructor will introduce you to basic strokes and concepts. You will have the chance to paddle sea kayaks, canoes, whitewater kayaks and stand up paddle boards (SUP).
