February 16-19, Outdoor Recreation, H15 The Italian Sella Ronda is truly a “bucket-list” location surrounded by world class skiing and breathtaking natural scenery. All participants will receive the Brixen card, which includes free access to the indoor pool and sauna directly across the street from the hotel, as well as a single day ride to the top of the Plosse where, in addition to skiing, families can take part in the 7.5 kilometer sledding route to the valley. Ski and snowboard lessons are available daily by professionally certified PSIA and AASI instructors. Includes lodging with full-board, daily transportation to the slopes and a historical walking tour in English. Half price equipment rentals available for participants. Lift passes not included. SNOWSHOE HIKE IN FICHTELGEBIRGE
February 24, Outdoor Recreation, H15 The Schneeberg (Snow Mountain) in Fichtelgebirge north of Bayreuth tops out at over 1,000 meters in elevation, and it is an excellent location for enjoying the natural scenery and snowy landscape with the help of traditional snowshoes in the deep winter months. This moderately difficult snowshoe hike passes multiple towering granite rock formations, such as the Rudolfstein and the Drei Bruder, and continues toward the highest point in upper Bavaria, the Schneeberg. Please dress for the weather, wear waterproof and insulated shoes, and bring along hydrating liquids. Cameras are a must! Price: $45/adult

SCIENCE OF DIVING
February 26, Outdoor Recreation, H15 This program provides an in-depth and detailed study of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment and diving equipment. It is required training for most SSI Dive Professional programs, as well as some Extended Range programs. Upon completion, earn the SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification. Includes e-learning course material and classroom instruction. Price: $259/person

Our staff work very hard to make sure that Children are well cared for and have every opportunity to grow and develop. The ‘All Star’ program is set up to show staff how much we appreciate them and recognize their tireless efforts of caring for our Children and Youth. Please help us by writing ‘star notes’ for excellence that you see. Each facility has a special location for the ‘All Star’ cards to be posted. At the end of each month, the cards will be collected and an award will be given for the caregiver who has the most ‘Star Cards’.

CULTURE COLLEGE February 2 & 23, 1-4:30 p.m., B321 Designed for Soldiers, but open to the community; this class provides basic information about German culture, language and general survival techniques for living overseas. Learn how to be a great ambassador and fit in to the local culture.
HOST NATION ORIENTATION February 5 & 20, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., B10 Soldiers attending in-processing - make sure you attend Host Nation Orientation to get tips and information about Germany. This is a great opportunity to learn about German culture, language, and public transportation. Session includes a tour so please wear civilian clothes, walking shoes and be prepared for inclement weather. Tour is conducted rain or shine so bring an umbrella!
HALLO HOHENFELS NEWCOMERS ORIENTATION February 6-8, B10 This is the place to be if you’re new to the community. In addition to learning some German language, you will explore local community and find out how your new community works without doing everything yourself. This is a great opportunity to make some new friends at the same time. Special DOUBLE bonus (*when JMRC is not in rotation): a visit to the epicenter of the rotations: the “Star Wars” building and a visit to the training area, a “Box Tour.”

BABY BOOT CAMP February 9, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., B10 If you think about it, the reason for Boot Camp, really the reason for any kind of training is to get ready for the ‘main’ event. This 7-part program answers questions most books and programs don’t. Geared for parents-to-be, this workshop covers topics such as birth certificate process in Germany, breast feeding, personal expectations, bringing baby home and much more.
GERMAN 101 February 13, 14, 21 & 22, 5:15-7:15 p.m., B10 An introduction to German will make it easier for you to order food in restaurants, shop, travel, ask for directions and understand German doctors. Make yourself more comfortable living in Germany by learning basic phrases. IMPORTANT NOTE: These are sequential classes that build on each other. Course consists of four 2-hour classes.
