READ FOR THE FUN OF IT TEEN READ WEEK OCTOBER 9-15

Teens, we know how demanding school assignments are, so try unwinding with some fun and entertaining reading this month. Explore different formats of reading -- magazines, e-books even audiobooks. Did you know you can read free magazines on your computer or tablet like Cicada, Teen Vogue, J-14, Seventeen or Girl’s World via the library’s Zinio subscription? Make a habit of reading just for the fun of it (and don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone that it might be educational too).

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP NOVEMBER 21, 7 P.M.

November’s book is Chinua Achebe’s classic book Things Fall Apart. This contemporary African novel is about the destruction of traditional tribal life in Nigeria. Okonkwo, a great man in Igbo traditional society, cannot adapt to the profound changes brought about by British colonial rule.
