MEET “ELF ON THE SHELF “
HOLIDAY CRAFTING AFTERNOON
Join us in welcoming our own tiny “scout” Elf to the library. We’ll read a story about him, give him a name, and learn about his magical powers (psst…he’s able to fly back and forth to the North Pole each night). Play the ongoing game of hide-and-seek as he returns to a new hiding spot in the library every day until 24 December. If you miss the welcoming story, just come to the library any time in December and find out how to play the game. All ages welcome. Children grade 5 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Get into the holiday spirit by making some quick and easy cool crafts at the library. We’ll have plenty of materials and ideas on hand to get you going. Make a tree ornament, a decoration for your home or front door, or make a card to send to a loved one. Get inspired... learn from others and share your ideas. Everyone is invited to this fun, informal crafting session. Children grade 5 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver.
December 1, 3 p.m.
December 10, 2:30 - 5 p.m.
PRESCHOOL & TODDLER STORYTIMES will break for the holidays in December. Join us again in the New Year at 10:30 a.m. beginning January 21, for stories, songs and crafts. It’s never too early to introduce your child to the wonders of stories and reading.

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP 25 January 25, 2016, 7 p.m.
The first book of the New Year will be “Room” by Emma Donoghue, soon to be adapted into a major motion picture. 5 year old Jack and his mother have been held captive in an 11-foot square room. Jack knows no other reality, but they are about to attempt an escape and make an amazing discovery: the outside world. Books are available at the library.
