SUMMER READING FUN FOR ALL AGES It’s not too late to join the Garmisch Library Summer Reading Program. During the month of July, the library continues to host a variety of free activities for children of all ages to encourage and support a love of reading. Dash on over to the library for more details.

READ FOR THE WIN: OLYMPIC CHALLENGE

GET IN THE GAME

On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! Our Summer Reading Program for children entering grades K-5 is designed to inspire readers to aim for peak performance and avoid “summer slide”, or diminished reading skills. We’ll have plenty of fun activities, crafts and storytimes that reflect our Olympics and sports theme. The program is simple: you read books and earn prizes! Children grades 5 and below must be accompanied by a caregiver.

We’ll meet again for a short discussion of our second book and then watch the filmed version. Books will be available from the library. Pick up the book “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen anytime. In addition to reading the group book, keep track of all the time you read and you might just win a prize to boot!might just win a prize to boot!

GRADES K-5 JULY 6 & 13, 10:30 A.M.

READ TO ME: PRESCHOOL STORY TIME JULY 7 &14,10:30 A.M.

This program for pre-readers ages 5 and under features a weekly read aloud storytime and activity. Children keep track of the time a parent, friend or older sibling reads to them. Get the whole family involved and read together this summer. It’s not too late to register. Stop by the library for details.
