May 1, 14, 15, 28 & 29, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Our ranges are open! Join us on these weekends to enjoy a little friendly skeet, pistol, rifle or archery shooting. Don’t have a gun? You have no more excuses, you can rent weapons with us to use if you do not have one and no license is required to use any of the ranges.
OPEN WATER DIVER CERTIFICATION
May 2-14 Classes take place at the Wild B.O.A.R., local indoor or outdoor swimming pool and local lakes. Price: $429 includes educational material, training, equipment and air. Theory sessions take place at the Wild B.O.A.R., pool sessions will be conducted at an indoor swimming pool, and the Open Water dives will be conducted at one of the local lakes.
TRY SCUBA POOL May 3,17 & 31 Would you like to try SCUBA diving before taking the plunge? This course will offer you a taste of what SCUBA diving is like. Classes take place at a local indoor or outdoor swimming pool. Price: $49 includes instruction, equipment and air.
ADVANCED ADVENTURE DIVER COURSE
May 7 & 14 This course offers a sample of five specialty dives ranging from deep diving, navigation diving, wreck diving, perfect buoyancy, underwater photography, night and limited visibility diving, dry suit diving and many more. Classes are conducted at one of several local lakes (depending on visibility). Price: $249 includes educational material, training, equipment and air.
EUROPA PARK AMUSEMENT PARK
May 7 Apart from taking part in 16 theme areas and over 100 rides, there are several shows which are suitable for all ages to explore. This theme park is broken down into the European countries with an Adventure Land and Water Park section as well as the new region of Portugal. The rides in each region stay true to the culture of that country while offering a bit of whimsy. For roller coaster fans Europapark is the place for you! Cost: $89 per adult, $79 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3. Includes Transportation and Entry
RHINE RIVER CRUISE
May 5 & 19 Are you looking to take your climbing experience to the next level? Embark on a climbing adventure with us! There are several local areas that are waiting to be explored. The day will consist of top rope climbing, bouldering and traversing. Wild B.O.A.R. belay certification is required to enroll. Pack your gear and explore some local crags. Maximum of 7 participants per trip. Registration prior to the date of event is encouraged. Weather permitting. Price: $15 with own equipment; $20 with rental equipment.
May 7 Take a cruise up and down the Rhine on the river bank with sights for all to enjoy along the way. The boat travels from Ruedesheim up to St. Goar and back down in the course of the cruise. On the boat you can also enjoy a good meal. When the cruise is back in Ruedesheim, you will have time to explore this beautiful city. Ruedesheim is known for its quaint restaurants, cafes, gift shops, scenic cable car ride over the wine vineyards to the Niederwald Monument, wine tasting and mini train ride thru the old town. The highlight of the old town is the Drosselgasse Street with its wine taverns, restaurants and music scene. Cost: $79 per adult, $49 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3. Boat ticket included.

PILSEN LIBERATION FEST
May 6 We're fishing from dusk to dawn at the Dickhaeuter Lake. Fishing license is required and is free to permit holders.
May 8 The city of Pilsen celebrates America’s liberation of Western Bohemia by General Patton’s 3rd U.S. Army division. The complete day is yours to experience this fest and the sights of Pilsen on your own. You may tour the Patton museum, watch the parade and then tour one of the oldest breweries in Europe. Don’t forget to bring comfortable walking shoes and your camera. Passport Required. Cost: $44 per adult, $34 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3

May 14 Join Wild B.O.A.R. Outdoor Recreation to the capital of Germany, Berlin. We will tour all the major sight in the 3-hour bus tour, like the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie and much more. After the tour, you will have free time to sightsee and to experience one of the most attractive cities of the world on your own. Cost: $59 per adult,$49 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3.
May 14, 9 a.m. - noon This is the opportunity to come out and help clean up your favorite fishing hole. Family and friends are welcome.
KLETTERSTEIG DAY TRIP
May 15 Looking for a new way to get vertical in your local area? Klettersteiging is similar to rock climbing because it uses much of the same safety equipment. However, rather than climbing up the rock face, you traverse the face on an established route. Join us and experience this exhilarating activity. No prior climbing experience is necessary. Cost: $35. Includes transportation, safety equipment and guide.
HERRENCHIEMSEE CASTLE
May 15 We travel to another one of King Ludwig’s fantastic castles! Tours of the castle and its extensive grounds on the island are conducted throughout the summer. Frauenchiemsee, the smaller one of the two major islands on the Chiemsee houses a Benedictine nunnery, built in 782, and a small village. Once we arrive at the Chiemsee lake you can purchase 3 tour packages from the boat pier ticket office (approx. €10-30 per person). Cost: $49 per adult, $39 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3.
FISHING COURSE May 20-22 Hungry for some fish? Interested in learning how to catch them and earn your fishing license? At Wild B.O.A.R. Outdoor Recreation you can do just that. Join us as we learn how to outsmart and catch all the fish we could ever dream of. Participants must enroll prior to the start of the class.
POLISH POTTERY May 21 Boleslaweic, Poland is the heart of the pottery industry. The factories around and in this outstanding city continue to hand stamp the patterns on each piece in the hundred year old tradition. Flourished due to careful attention to design, both in body shapes and patterns designs range from original ones inspired by the peacock to more modern patterns. The pottery is made from white clay and many pieces are microwave and dishwashersafe. We will take you to different stores, to offer you a wide choice to start or complete a collection of fascinating handmade pottery. Passport Required. Cost: $59 per person.
CASTLE BREWERY FRIEDENFELS
May 21 In April, the Castle Brewery Friedenfels reopened the new renovated building right in time for the 500 years anniversary from the beer purity law (Reinheitsgebot). In 2014 they won the world gold beer award for their South-German-Style Hefeweizen. Included in the price is the guided tour through the brewery, a tasting of different sorts of beer and snacks. Cost: $39 per person.
May 22 Be a kid again as we travel to the land of Playmobil! The Playmobil Fun Park, located by Nuremberg, is a park where everything is made of Playmobils. Children can play with ships in a water track, be a farmer in the farm area, enter a pirate ship from the lake, or live like a king or queen in the castle. Cost: Price: $29 per adult, $10 per child (0-12). Entrance fee: approximately €10 for adults (free for children under 3) will be paid on site.
May 27 You no longer have to dream of experiencing the thrill of a lifetime. It can become a reality by joining us in Tandem Skydiving over Bavaria. Price includes ground and air transportation to an elevation of 14,000 feet above the earth’s surface. The ultimate experience of falling at a speed of 120 miles per hour is priceless, yet free. Captured video of this experience is available at the drop zone at additional cost. Cost: $239 (up to 197 lbs), $269 (198-220 lbs); weigh-in required for registration. Includes transportation and jump.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND OUTDOOR ADVENTURE IN GARMISCH/AUSTRIA
May 27-30 This Memorial Day weekend trip will be packed with adventure activities such as white water rafting, kayaking, flat water kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, bike rides, klettersteig and hiking. We will be camping at the AFRC Edelweiss camp grounds with groups from other bases. The campground has modern facilities and a PX nearby. Some activities are planned for Austria, but may change to Germany depending on weather conditions. Cost: $140 per adult. Includes instructions in all activities, transportation, lodging, camping gear and unlimited use of outdoor equipment. Passports are required for most activities. A white water rafting trip in Austria will be arranged for an additional cost. Registration closes two weeks prior to trip date, seats are limited.
VIENNA, AUSTRIA EXPRESS TRIP May 28-29 Vienna is the capital of Austria and one of the most important historical cities of Europe. You will have free time to discover the city on your own. Recommended sights you could take in are: St. Stephan’s Cathedral, the museum quarter, the Schönbrunn Zoo, the Imperial Apartments, the Butterfly House and the large Ferris wheel at the Prater, a large public park in Vienna’s 2nd District which is open year round. We recommend you consider taking the Vienna hop on - hop off bus tours which begins from the Vienna State Opera house in the city center. Passport Required. Cost: $79 per adult, $59 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3.

May 29 Discover the unique castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau built by King Ludwig II and his father, King Maximillian II. The charms of these castles enchant you while enjoying the picturesque mountains of the Bavarian Alps. Cost: $49 per adult, $39 per child (3-12), $10 per child under 3. Entrance fee to the castles is approx. €15 per castle per person.

There is a shortage of qualified good officials for all sports and it would be great if you came out and gave officiating softball a try. May 27-29 Be sure to stop by the bowling center sometime on Memorial Day weekend. Bowlers bowl can 3 games using the "No Tap scoring method with total score determining final standing placement. Entry fee is $20, multiple reentries is permitted but individuals will only be able to “place” once. Payouts are paid at 8 p.m. on the May 29.

MINDFUL ART: WORRY DOLLS May 31, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Learn to make and use the traditional Guatemalan toy, a worry doll, to help ease your mind. Make the doll, tell them your worries at night and let them take care of them so you can rest. Fee: $20 (supplies included)

May 6, noon - 6 p.m. Tower Barracks and Rose Barracks Library Since 1984, the Friday before Mothers’ Day has been designated as Military Spouse Appreciation Day. MILITARY HISTORY GROUP May 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tower Barracks Survey your world through a series of Military History discussions. We’re showing short presentations and having great historical discussions. Come share your knowledge and enthusiasm. Volunteer presenters are also needed.

Wednesdays, 10-11:30 a.m., Rose Barracks Thursdays, 10-11:30 a.m., Tower Barracks "Story Time Art" for parents with their 2-5 year old children; join us as we team up with CYSS SKIESUnlimited Program and the Heart & Home Craft Shop for a morning of art instruction from a professional art teacher.
