Parent’s Night Out January 8, 6:30 - 11:30 p.m. sign up by January 6

Do you need an evening without the kids? Drop your children off with our childcare experts and enjoy a nice quiet evening, a romantic date with your spouse or an action filled movie. Contact Parent Central Services today.

Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament January 8, 6:45 p.m.

Come out to the Zone and enjoy one of America’s favorite card games. Texas Hold’ Em is one of the most popular variants of poker and has fascinated players for many years. Buy-ins and rebuys are both $25.

Painting with Friends January 8, 6:45 p.m.

Come out to the Zone and paint your heart away all while laughing and joking! Each class we paint a “special” surprise painting that gets unveiled the day of. Sign up early as our class fills up quickly.

Sports & Fitness Expo

January 9, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Stop by the Post Gym and find out all the sports and fitness programs offered for both Youth and adults. Events include BJJ/ Taekwondo, Yoga, Indoor Cycling, Zumba, as well as different dance variations. Entrance is free, and is open to all I.D. Card holders in the community. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Amsterdam Light Festival & Ice Skating January 9

The Amsterdam Light Festival puts its canals on spotlight during winter, showcasing a canal cruise, a walking route, and a 10km night bike tour. Skating over the frozen canals is another magical winter experience – made even more special by the fact that it’s not possible every year. Amsterdam is a city built upon millions of pilings; a wonderland of canals lined with cozy cafés, showcasing the great art, street-corner jazz, stately history, and a spirit of live and let live.

Snowshoe Tour in the Bavarian Forest January 9

Three countries in one go! This three-hour, guided walk in the Bavarian Forest takes you from Bavaria to Czech to Austria. The mountain guesthouse “Dreisessel” is a perfect way to end the day with its views of the Bavarian Forest.

Indoor Bouldering Night in Nuremberg January 12

Leave behind ropes and harnesses and use only climbing shoes and a bag of chalk over safety mats. Your challenge is to climb short but tricky bouldering “problems” using balance, technique, strength and your brain.

Winter Time Crafts

January 13, 2:30-4 p.m.

Beat the winter blues with a fun craft at the Hohenfels Library. This crafting event is perfect for the entire family.

Karaoke

January 15, 7-11 p.m.

If you’re looking to spice up your evening and enjoy a night of local performers singing and dancing to your favorite music, this Karaoke Night at the Zone is just right for you.

MLK Weekend Ski Trip to the Zillertal January 15-18

Join Hohenfels ODR for a family friendly ski/snowboard trip to the Austrian Zillertal. With a single ski pass you can explore 7 separate ski areas in the beautiful Tyrolean valley. Trip includes three overnights in a 3-star hotel including dinner and breakfast and daily transportation to the slopes in a modern luxury coach. Ski and snowboard lessons are available daily.

Headlamp Snowshoe Hikes in the Local Woods January 19

Looking for something fun to do on those long winter evenings? On snowshoes we hike through the night and push away the cold and the darkness with our high spirits and great stories. Headlamps show us the way - and we may even gather a cup of mulled wine or cocoa after the journey.

Furry Friends Sleepover January 19, 4:30-5 p.m.

Come to our special Story Time on Tuesday and bring your stuffed animal friend too. We will have stories, songs, activities and lots of fun. Leave your furry friend with us for an exciting overnight stay at the Library. They will enjoy games, movies, treats and stay up late too! On Wednesday morning between 9:30-10 a.m., join us for a small treat, pick up your friends and take home mementos.

Hip-Hop Night

January 22, 7 p.m.-2 a.m. Get dressed up and get out to The Zone and PARTY! Jam to all your Regaeton, Hip-Hop, R&B favorites. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. See you there.

Indoor Roped Climbing Night in Regensburg January 26

Wanting to learn to climb or just stay strong for the real rock? Come with Outdoor Recreation down to the indoor rock climbing gym in Regensburg! Their facility is one of the largest in Germany. There will be an intro class for first timers and a leading class for those ready to be on the sharp end.

Rainbow Loom Club January 26, 3-4 p.m.

Do you Loom? Do you want to learn? Come to our monthly Rainbow Loom Club at the Library and make some cool bracelets and more. Use our looms and supplies or bring your own. Lots of fun for ages 8 and up!

Eclectic Book Club January 26, 5-6 p.m.

Now that the kids are back in school, you have more time to read, right? Join our Eclectic Book club as we embark on epic journeys through books, with the added deliciousness of talking about them afterwards! Call the Library for more information.

FRG Game Tournament Register by January 13

January 27, 4:30-6 p.m.

A friendly competition between Family Readiness Groups (FRGs) in a Round-Robin game tournament at the Library. Feel free to bring a snack to share.

Learn to Snowboard Quick Trip January 30

From never clipping into bindings, to carving your edges, we are here to give you the skills needed to start snowboarding. Spend the day on the slopes of what we call the Mont Blanc of the Bavarian Forest – Grosser Arber. Your snowboard lessons are provided by professionally certified PSIA and AASI instructors.

Build an Igloo Workshop January 31

A unique, back to nature experience full of peace and tranquility, set amidst magical snow-covered winter landscape. Build an igloo stone by stone in the Bavarian Forest and enjoy hot drinks and biscuits as your reward. This introductory workshop is a great experience for children, teens and adults who want to learn the ancient art of ice shelter building. This trip is weather dependent.

SKIESUnlimited stands for “School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills” with the word “Unlimited” for the unlimited possibilities that this program provides Children and Youth.
