Welcome to Black Fox Ranch—sited amongst bands of cottonwoods beneath the Teton Range continuing on the legacy a historical trapper’s outpost and a working cattle ranch through its reimagining as a 35-acres private retreat and stable. A reflective ethos pervades the estate: swathes of land have been protected by conservation easements; hay pastures have been restored; and the surrounding fields have been revived with new topsoil and native planting. Inspired by the vernacular of historic ranches, the house and barn elevate the elemental principals of Western architecture to contemporary affect. Century-old irrigation ditches lace the land, as do log remnants of its past. Sited along the Snake River, the site affords sweeping views of the Tetons to the north and Sleeping Indian to the east. Beloved by wildlife, elk frequently migrate across the property, testifying to the artful integration of human spaces within the natural splendor.
