JACKSON HOLE MOUNTAIN RESORT is known for snowfall, long ski runs, large vertical terrain, smaller crowds and shorter lift lines than most premier ski resorts.

The season typically runs from Thanksgiving Day to the second weekend in April. JHMR is limiting numbers of tickets sold per day to maintain a great experience— plan and reserve your ski days in advance!

As the only ski resort in the town of Jackson, SNOW KING is locally known as “the Town Hill”, and is a great spot for beginner skiers and boarders. The brand new gondola takes you to a birds eye view over town, and you can take it as a scenic ride, no skis required!

Venture out into the Wyoming wilderness on a GUIDED SNOWMOBILE TOUR

Head south towards Hoback and ride out to the Granite Hot Springs and enjoy a warm soak as the snow falls around you, or head up to Togwotee Pass and enjoy all the thrills of backcountry riding.

The iconic GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK offers unparalleled access to snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and backcountry skiing and snowboarding. A professional guide will be able to highlight special features and ensure a safe trip in the backcountry.

SPRING RECREATION

BIKING OR WALKING in Grand Teton National Park, once the snow has melted and before the interior road is open to motorized vehicles, is a great way to experience the grandeur of the Tetons without the traffic. Added bonus—pets are allowed, but must stay on a leash! The park opens officially on May 1st, and dogs are not allowed during the official season.

HOT AIR BALLOON tours are an unbeatable way to see the valley from an elevated perspective. From the Teton range to the Gros Ventre wilderness, the views are breathtaking in every direction. Tours start mid-May.

OUR FAVORITE: WYOMING BALLOON COMPANY

EXPLORE the back roads of Jackson as the snow melts via side-by-side or ATV. The roads can be muddy and difficult to navigate with a car, so renting one of these specialized vehicles is a fun and adventurous way to get out and about.

OUR FAVORITE: JACKSON HOLE ADVENTURE RENTALS

Because of the low levels of light pollution, STARGAZING in the valley is something spectacular. Whether stepping out into your backyard or heading up to the National Park with an expert, the views of the solar system are sure to leave you awe-struck.

OUR FAVORITE: WYOMING STARGAZING

GFM TEAM TIP!

After biking the National Park Road, head over to Dornan’s in Moose and enjoy a celebratory beer and pizza, while taking in the sweeping views of the Teton Range.

WORLD-CLASS FISHING on the many of the valleys rivers, including the Snake River, home to the revered native Snake River spotted cutthroat trout. Hire a guide and drift the waters for the best fishing and incredible views.

TEAM FAVORITE: WYOMING ANGLING COMPANY

GOLF on one of the five championship golf courses in Jackson Hole or try out one of the five courses just over the pass in nearby Teton Valley, Idaho. Some golf courses are limited to members only, but others are open for the public to play, such as Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis.

MOUNTAIN BIKING opportunities in the valley are endless—Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has an official bike park experience, Teton Pass provides adrenaline pumping downhill trails, and Cache Creek offers in-town access for cross-country pedaling.

TEAM FAVORITE RENTALS: HOBACK SPORTS

Floating down THE SNAKE RIVER, whether on a scenic or whitewater section, is one of the most enjoyable activities on a hot summer’s day. The Hoback Canyon is filled with wildlife and being on the river gives you a front row seat to all of the action. In the National Park, floating Deadman’s Bar to Moose Landing gives amazing views of the Tetons and plenty of wildlife action as well.

TEAM FAVORITE: DORNAN’S FLOAT TRIPS

GFM TEAM TIP!

After a long day of enjoying the summer sun, head over to the People’s Market at the Center for the Arts lawn. The market is held on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer and showcases local artists, food, and most importantly, sloshies!

SUMMER RECREATION
FALL RECREATION

Jackson and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem offer tremendous opportunities for WILDLIFE VIEWING—this time of year bears are out and about, elk enter their rut, moose are shedding their paddles, and bison return to the valley floor for winter.

TEAM FAVORITE: JACKSON HOLE ECO TOUR ADVENTURES

The ASTORIA HOT SPRINGS, located just along the bank of the Snake River, offer a relaxing and enjoyable experience for everyone. Temps typically start to drop in October and November, making it a great time to fully enjoy the natural warmth of the hot springs.

Guided HORSEBACK RIDING trips are a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the Fall foliage—riding through an Aspen grove is an experience like no other. Riding can bring you to new corners of the valley that may not have been accessible by foot, and helps you experience the surrounding wonder of Jackson Hole.

OUR FAVORITE: TETON VILLAGE TRAIL RIDES

Grab your sneakers or bike and head up to Emily Stevenson Park in Wilson for a mellow and beautiful stroll or ride along the Snake River. The impeccably maintained LEVEE is a great spot to get some steps in and enjoy some of the best Teton views in the valley. This dog friendly path is a local favorite!

GFM TEAM TIP!

Fall is “2-for-1” season in town where many restaurants offer deals on dining. Head to The Bistro for an inviting dining experience with their French and American inspired menu–if you order 2 entrees, the second will only cost $2 that will be donated to a local charity! There are many “two-for-one” options during the fall in Jackson.
