Today, Skywalk, old-money’d or no-money’d, still give canyon visitors from out-of-town the grand tour of their impressive piece of real estate—-only the mode of transportation has changed. The Grand Canyon boat tour of Colorado river offers a perspective of the Skywalk akin to that of an Impressionist painting, viewed from an appropriate distance—-both help seemingly random components coalesce into a thing of beauty. While Skywalk lacks the romance of those horse-drawn carriage tours of yesteryear, it nonetheless manages to impart a similar feeling of serenity. What’s more, there’s no traffic, so you can make it back in time for tea.
