I would like to thank everyone who encouraged me and has supported me in this big step to Grand Chef de Gare. I would especially like to Thank Grand Chef de Gare Passe David Knutson for everything he has done for the Grand du Texas. His accomplishments in getting the Texas Merci Boxcar moved will help protect the legacy of the Grand du Texas for many years to come. Thank you! As we move forward things will not get any easier as we work to transition our organization to the younger generations of military veterans. With this transition will come new ideas and we must all keep an open mind as to how to both keep key traditions and also accept change. I will do what I can to help our organization grow. One of the first things I will ask is that as many as possible attends the Fall Cheminot which is being held in downtown San Antonio this October. We will be at the Double Tree Hotel near the Market Square which provides complimentary shuttle service to the downtown area. You will be only minutes from the popular river walk and many other great attractions in downtown San Antonio. All events will be at the Double Tree Hotel to include the hospitality room hosted by Voiture 542, complimentary breakfast a catered dinner for our banquet. We plan to have some surprises for those attending and will be recognizing our Law Officer of the Year who also will be recognized as the Forty & Eight National Law Officer of the Year at Promenade Nationale in September. We will introduce our Voyageur of the Year and present awards to the many Voiture Locales who have worked hard on their programs this past year.
