Dear Members, It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us. November brings us lots of exciting and fun family activities at Reunion. Stop by the spa to receive the autumn sugar and spice treatment. The fall-inspired treatment offered this month begins with a raw cane sugar exfoliation and a refreshing aromatherapy massage featuring cinnamon leaf pure essential oil—this spa treatment will remind you of the perfect autumn day. This Thanksgiving holiday, let Reunion do the cooking. Our food & beverage team is making Thanksgiving a breeze with several dining options including a Thanksgiving buffet in the Grande or Thanksgiving dinner delivered to your home. And what’s Thanksgiving weekend without fun fall activities? As the nights grow chilly in Orlando, be sure to gather around the family bonfire for a movie or participate in the Annual Family Flag Football Game on Thanksgiving afternoon. For more information about our family or holiday activities, please contact your membership office. Our public relations team has also been hard at work getting the coverage for Reunion and our sister properties. We are excited to share these great stories about our properties: Why Orlando Is The Greatest Spot For Golfers, Checkin.com Free Companion Airfare, Travlin’ Girl Behind the Gates: Orlando’s Reunion Resort, Golf News Net REVIEW: REUNION RESORT - NICKLAUS COURSE, GolfMagic.com Kissimmee without Disney, Just About Travel ‘Scary-aoke’ and a costume contest at Reunion’s Clubhouse Grille, The Daily City Here’s to a happy holiday! Yours in hospitality,

General Manager’s Corner
Summer has officially come to a close here in Florida. We had our busiest summer yet at Reunion Resort & Club, and I would like to thank our resident Members for participating in Club Member events and supporting the Club during the warm (and often HOT!) summer months. Now the holiday season is already upon us. One sure way to tell that the holidays are approaching is the return of many of our seasonal Members to Reunion Resort & Club. While we appreciate and value ALL of our Club Members, I’d like to say “welcome back” to those of you who have not been to Reunion lately and have recently arrived for the 2014/2015 season. It’s always great to see you reconnect with your fellow Members (and Reunion’s Service Professionals too!) over a round of golf or a game of tennis, a delicious meal at one of our restaurants or having fun at a Member event – we really do see it as “coming home” for you and hope you feel the same. Speaking of coming home, we have many exciting events planned this month for the return of our annual Homecoming event. We kick off the weekend Thursday, November 20 with an interclub golf team draw party at the Clubhouse, to which all Members are invited; continue on Friday with a Member breakfast, golf and a beach party Member Mixer at the Cove; follow up on Saturday with several tennis events, more golf, family painting fun and games at the Water Park, and a fabulous Superhero party; then end the weekend with brunch at Eleven and a final golf event. There’s something for everyone, so we certainly hope you will join in the festivities. In preparation for those of you escaping the chillier climates and looking forward to some fun in the sun, we have added new signage to highlight the Member’s only deck at the Water Park, as well added new pool chaises and umbrellas in that area. In addition, new chaises and umbrellas are now in place at the pools at Centre Court Ridge, Eleven, The Villas and The Cove at Seven Eagles. Please look for full coverage of the recent Member-Guest Tournament in next month’s Gatherings. By all accounts, the event was highly successful and we thank all who participated. Lastly, we have a variety of dining options for all the upcoming holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and we’ll also host our annual Hanukkah celebration on December 16. Look for detailed menus and pricing in this edition of the Member newsletter and make your reservations today.
See you at the Club! gath erings | 4
Sincerely,
Carlton W. Grant, CHA Managing Director Reunion Resort & Club
MEMBERSHIP RECORDS AUDIT
Membership Updates
The Reunion Membership Office will be conducting an audit of Membership records in the coming months in order to ensure all information is up-to-date and Members are in the proper Membership category. As a reminder, immediate family privileges are offered to a Member, his or her spouse and their unmarried children, under the age of twenty-three (23), who are living at home, attending school on a full-time basis or in the military. If needed information is missing from your Membership Agreement, a Membership representative will be contacting you in order to update our files; we hope to have this project completed by the end of the Membership Year (December 31, 2014). Your prompt cooperation is greatly appreciated as we work to ensure that we have the most accurate data on file.

Fallen Heroes Tournament The Folds of Honor Foundation was established by Major Dan Rooney in order to raise money to provide children and spouses of soldiers killed or disabled while serving our nation with assistance such as scholarships. Due to the weather on the day scheduled, the event was not an official tournament, but participants did donate to the Folds of Honor. Reunion was able to donate $160 for this great cause. Thank you all those who donated!

Pink on the Links This year’s Pink on the Links Scramble event had a total of 28 participants consisting of both Members and guests. The event was held in order to raise money for the Pink Army. Golf members raised $280 for the Pink Army. The
overall winners were John and Norma Pelfrey, Gross 62, along with Chris and Carole Clegg and Kevin and Clare Ingram, Net 57. We had an incredible turnout this month for our charity events and would like to thank everyone that participated and also donated to these wonderful foundations.

Our Men’s division had a great turnout of low scores, with Frank D’Entremont taking first place Gross with a score of 1 under 71. Low net score was Cary Taylor with 70. Jamie Feagan
Jamie Feagan Receives Reunion Club Member Recognition Program (MERP) Award for September The Member Employee Recognition Program (MERP) has been in effect since early this year. This program provides Members with an opportunity to honor Reunion employees for exceptional service they have performed. Although only one employee receives this monthly award, all of the employees nominated receive peer and management recognition at a special employee breakfast conducted throughout the year. September’s MERP recipient is Jamie Feagan. Jamie is our Director of Tennis and been with Reunion since before our Tennis Centre opened.
During October’s Member Reception, Jamie was given a gift card and a special name tag that symbolizes him as a MERP honoree. He and other award recipients will also be considered for the annual award; a two-night stay in any one of the three Florida Salamander Resorts. Next time you see Jamie, take time to congratulate him for the award he has received and be sure to submit your MERP ballots (available on-line and in all outlets) to keep the recognition going.
gath erings | 13
His ballot read “Jamie is the consummate professional and is exemplary of the traits honored by this recognition program. From the way he conducts the tennis program to the interest he takes
in each Member’s developmental goals, Jamie distinguishes himself as a leader, coach, teacher, and strategist. I consider Reunion very fortunate to have him and would rank him among the very best at his profession.”

Beating a better player
gath erings | 30
There are many times when we step onto the tennis court to play a match, and we get the feeling that our opponent is a much better player than us. It may be true, but it also may be something you are imagining. Either way, we still have to find a way to beat them.
to the net, drop shot, and try to hit the winner when you can. The second thing you need to do is play the match at a pace that suits you and the score. If you can get the momentum in your favor, try to keep the match pace moving along quickly; vice versa if you are losing.
How to beat a better player than you can be quite a task, unless you know these tips:
The last thing that you can do is to experiment with different styles of play - maybe serve and volley, chip and charge, and even try bringing them to the net with a drop shot. Out of all the styles, you may find that kryptonite for your opponent, making them get out of their game and giving you the upper hand.
The first thing is that you are going to have to be aggressive and go for shots. It isn’t likely that you are going to outlast your opponent, so you need to go after them. Attack, come
The thing that you have to always remember is that you have nothing to lose. In theory, you are supposed to lose to this player. Keep believing and see what happens.
