Sustainable Meats Sustainable Seafood

Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), are the world’s leading certification programs that respectively reviews and certifies the hotel’s procured seafood items under responsible farming and fishing practices. Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur uses tonnes of seafood annually whereby 48% of the total is sourced from sustainable suppliers, and 28% is recognized and certified sustainable by MSC and ASC.

Cage-free Eggs

Cage-free housing provides laying hens with more space, enabling increased mobility and greater expression of the bird's natural behaviour. Hyatt is committed to responsible sourcing that includes animal welfare. Farming more naturally with cage-free hens and placing animal welfare first, LK Fresh cultivates the practice of letting hens roam freely, socializing in spacious areas instead of those with cramped and inhumane conditions, where most caged hens are usually kept. 100% of the hotel’s eggs is supplied by LK Fresh, the trusted partner for egg production from healthy hens living in clean nests and perches with constant access to fresh water and feed.

Chef’s Garden

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur created its own Chef’s Garden as a green initiative to supply the kitchens in hotel entirety with homegrown Thai Basil, Lemongrass, Betel Leaves, etc. for relevant culinary and bartending use. Consistently maintained by an experienced in-house gardener, the Chef’s Garden is also easily spotted by guests as it is located on suitable soil amidst the hotel entrance visible from the Grand Ballroom foyer.
