FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF OPERATIONS Welcome back RESIDENTS

Jeff Hochman

Director of Golf Operations

Staff is looking forward to another spectacular season. I want to invite all of you to come out to the three golf shops and look at all the great new merchandise that has been arriving. We feel that this is our best year ever for merchandise selection and hope that you agree. Staff wants to remind everyone that is just getting back into town to remember to bring your resident card with you every time you check in. Every resident must check in with the golf shop with their I.D. card to receive the resident rates. To help keep our operating cost down and to make it easier for you, we have a credit book available. A credit book is a way for you to place an amount of money on an account and every time you play or buy something, it deducts from that account. It saves us the credit card swiping fees and still allows you to get the benefit of using a credit card. This will also allow you to skip the long check in lines on shotgun days by just signing your name on a list at the golf shop.

If you are just getting back into town and you are finding that your game might be a little rusty, I want to remind you that my staff and I are available for lessons to help get that rust off. It is amazing on how just one lesson can improve your game and give you more enjoyment and confidence. Our teaching staff consists of:

Jeff Hochman, Class A PGA $50 for 30-minute lesson (located at Desert Springs) PGA Specialized in Teaching & Coaching (On-Course Coaching Sessions Available) Kevin Reagan, Class A PGA $45 for 30-minute lesson (located at Granite Falls) Cassidy Potter, Class A PGA $40 for 30-minute lesson (located at Desert Springs) Kirk Hanaway, Class A PGA $40 for 30-minute lesson (located at Cimarron) Kim Hunley, Class A PGA $40 for 30-minute lesson (located at Desert Springs) Jennifer Johnson, Class A LPGA $40 for 30-minute lesson (located at Granite Falls) Matt Boher, Associate $30 for 30-minute lesson (located at Desert Springs) Eric Swobody, Associate $30 for 30-minute lesson (located at Granite Falls) Art Nelsen, Associate $30 for 30-minute lesson (located at Cimarron)

We also have group clinics available called “Cactus Practice” located at Cimarron on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-11am for $20/pp. Please don’t forget to repair ball marks on the greens and to fill divots. On your last hole of play in a shotgun, please take a few minutes to empty out your sand containers and fill as many divots as you can. This will help keep the courses in great shape. Until next month, keep it in the short stuff.

WEEDS

Friendly Reminder From Standards

We all want to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of our homes in Sun City Grand. We also recognize that there are many things that impede us in this common desire. The intrusion of nature in the form of weeds is certainly on top of our list. Weeds do nothing but detract from the effect we sought to achieve when we landscaped our property. Please help us to help you and your fellow owners by ensuring that your property stays free of these unsightly intruders.
