The Drama & Comedy Club season opens with Farce of Nature, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten. Originally scheduled for December 2020, then rescheduled for March 2021 (thank you COVID-19), Farce of Nature will now be proudly performed in October on the Sonoran Plaza Main Stage. The non-stop hilarity of this Southern-fried farce highlights one day in the life of an Arkansas family, who own the “Reel ’Em Inn,” the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks. Well, it used to be, but lately business is down, tourists are few, except for one lone guest. A deliciously funny romp ensues, but by the chaotic end of this one outrageous day, love blossoms, truths are revealed and lives change in incredible and surprising ways.

The 2021 Grand Singers and Chorale Concert is titled “Our Holiday Wish List!” Come celebrate some of our favorite sounds of the season with the 130-voice Chorus and 32-voice Chorale, under the direction of Pamela J. Weir. The concert will open with “Christmas…in About Three Minutes,” a fun medley of some of the favorites! Also included will be many more new arrangements of familiar songs, jazzy and upbeat, as well as a celebration of the lights of Hanukkah through “Candlelight Canon.” You’re sure to enjoy traditional pieces like “White Christmas”, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Sleigh Ride”. David Durham and several members of the SCG Acoustic Instrument Group (AIG) will once again be filling the Sonoran Ballroom with the lively and fun sounds of an oldfashioned Hootenanny (sing along!!!). This will be a holiday version with the first half of the show featuring many of your favorite 50’s and 60’s sing-a-longs – folk, western and rock & roll. The second half will be holiday themed songs, some traditional and some humorous. As usual, this will be a spirited event with song lyrics shown on the three overhead screens. The accompaniment will be provided by guitars, mandolins, bass, harmonica and drum. The AIG voices, along with yours – will make for one lively evening of song.
