Grand Learning Communication

Information and Registration at 623-546-7470 or grandlearning.org

Grand Learning has been providing educational opportunities for adults in Sun City Grand and the surrounding area for nearly 20 years. Traditionally held in our well-equipped classrooms, we have offered 100+ classes in the spring and fall semesters. This year has been challenging because of the covid restrictions and having to close our buildings as a result. But as they say…the show must go on! We are diligently working with instructors, making modifications, and are excited to offer several online classes with Zoom beginning in October. To avoid problems joining a meeting and possibly missing your class, it is highly recommended to download Zoom to your device in advance. Just visit zoom.us/ download. Also, please make sure that you are in (ASAP) the Grand Learning registration database in order to sign up for classes online. Visit grandlearning.org and click on “log-in/register” to create an account with a user name and password. (Note: All Zoom links to access classes are sent to the email in your ASAP account) Now, back to the show. One of the hottest topics these days is the upcoming election. November 2020 Elections will meet before and after the election for discussions in a non-partisan manner (is that even possible?) Winnie Fritz explores health-related trends and changes occurring in the U.S. and around the world in Staying Healthy in an Often Unhealthy World. Dr. Edelita Jamis offers alternatives to medication and costly procedures with Lifestyle Medicine. Allen Reamer is back on Fridays…with 8 classes from Gothic Cathedrals to the Prado Museum of Art. History buffs will enjoy Civil War classes, or a presentation about Eleanor Roosevelt by Historian Ken Sorensen. Women’s History month may be over, but Bonnie Saunders will take you through the history of Women’s Rights. Staying home a lot these days? Why not learn how to make your home smarter? Tony Spata will show you how! And we’ll “zoom” to outer space in Astronomy Part I and Astronomy Part II. Plus much more! Check our website for updates and class listings.
