LEADING THE WAY
Blackpool Grand Theatre is proud to deliver a range of award-winning projects both on and off-stage, benefitting communities locally, regionally, and nationally.

Young people are always at the heart of The Grand’s work and support and funding is key, so we would like to thank The Goldsmiths’ Company Charity who continue to support our Tales Retold Schools Project allowing us to work with over 300 children each year to strengthen skills in oracy and resilience through performance and storytelling.
Other incredible youth projects include our Grand Young Company who delighted audiences as they performed Orchestra as part of National Theatre Connections Festival, supported by our Grand Young Technicians showcasing their skills in lighting, sound and stage management. This spring, 14 RSC Associate Schools took part in two days of playmaking retelling Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet.
Two innovative new projects include a LGBTQIA+ community group working with the celebrated Gary Clarke Company, using movement, writing and photography to celebrate their community whilst contributing to the research and development of the new dance work Detention. The second, Life In A Northern Town, is an exciting project developing new playwrights in partnership with Northern Broadsides and three theatres across the north of England. This work would not be possible without Arts Council England’s support as a National Portfolio Organisation.
