Celebration of Life for Mrs. Pacita Dayrit Griffin

Mrs. Pacita Dayrit Rosaro Griffin, 85, was born on March 16, 1938 in Tarlac, Philippines. She was the youngest of 12 siblings born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Rosario. Her parents and all of her siblings preceded her in death. She entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2023 at Augusta University Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends.
In her childhood and teenage years, she attended schools in the Philippines. On March 20, 1960, she married the love of her life. Mr. Robert “Bob” Louis Griffin. Bob was a military soldier assigned at Clark Air Force Base, Luzon Island, Philippines. Bob was proud to call her his “Princess” and somehow knew he had chosen the best pearl in the Philippine Islands. To this union of 54 years, two daughters were born, Marie and Patricia Griffin.
Pacita’s life with Bob was delightful and full of adventure. She learned the English language more fluently and adjusted to Army life. They were assigned to European locations as well as numerous stateside locations. In 1979, when Bob retired from Fort Gordon, GA, Pacita became a lifelong citizen of Richmond county for 44 years.
Pacita and Bob were devout Catholics, choosing St. Joseph Catholic Church, Augusta, GA, as their church home. They fervently taught their children and grandchildren to follow the faith. They could be seen worshiping every Sunday with children and grandchildren. After Bob passed, Pacita could be seen worshiping with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pacita’s journey on this earth was dedicated to serving God and serving others. She was endowed with the fruit of the Holy Spirit and exemplified the gifts of service, hospitality, and wisdom.
Mrs. Griffin was a beloved and committed daughter, wife, mother, Lola (grandmother) and greatgrandmother (great Lola). Pacita enjoyed nature, shopping, cooking, watching TV, painting her nails and most importantly spending time with loved ones. She took pride in the way she did things whether big or small. Mrs. Griffin aimed to please the Lord by giving her time, love, compassion, patience and wisdom to her family and friends. She was a soft, yet powerful, matriarch in her home. She was true to herself. Her infectious smile and laughter, along with her genuine interest in the affairs of her family “bettered” the day of all who encountered her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Mrs. Marie Griffin (Robert Mixon), Mrs. Patricia (Steven) Griffin-Carr; grandchildren, Danielo (Felicia) Jones, Teressa Taylor, Jose “Bobby” Jones, Sr., Emmanuel Mixon, China Mixon and Jasmine Mixon. In addition, she will be remembered by her great-grandchildren, Shandrika, Danielo, Jr., Zyrian, Zavian, Zaylen, Manay, Janiyah, Jose, Jr., Adrigreat grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and and

m walking now with Jesus for all eternity,
From LolaIn winter by the window, In summer by the gate And though we mocked her tenderly Who had such foolish care The long way home would seem more safe Because she waited there. Her thoughts were all so full of us, She never could forget! And so I think that where she is She must be watching yet Waiting til we come home to her Anxious if we are late Watching from Heaven’s window, Leaning on Heaven’s gate.
