English and Maths
Are you apprehensive about adjectives or frightened by fractions? Maybe you need a qualification for your CV or you feel you cannot support your child with their homework? At Aspire Sussex, our English and Maths classes are taught in a friendly and supportive environment by tutors who are experienced in helping individuals improve their English and Maths skills. We offer courses at Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2 and GCSE and students will have the opportunity to work towards a qualification at an appropriate level. It is very important that students can commit to a high level of attendance in order to help them achieve their learning goals. Courses are offered online and in classrooms. Our courses are FREE for students who have not yet achieved a Grade 4 (C) or above at GCSE. An annual, non-returnable assessment fee of ÂŁ15 per course per student is charged. (Assessments are free for people on means tested benefits. Please get in touch for more information). For further details, please see page 21. Functional Skills English and Maths Functional Skills courses start in September and February. To start on a September course, you will need to add your name to the waiting list for our initial assessments which will take place in May 2021. GCSE English and Maths GCSE courses start in early September and end with exams in May/June, and require a real level of personal commitment and hard work in order to achieve your qualification at the end. Learners are expected to take responsibility for their own learning and progression outside the classroom through the completion of tasks and activities such as homework and revision.
