WELCOME TO STONELEIGH WELCOME to the world’s largest kit car show! Stoneleigh offers you a unique opportunity to see more kit cars in one place than at any other event on the planet. For manufacturers, this is the place to launch a new model, and 2015 will yet again witness several new cars getting their first public unveiling. Among them, make sure you have a look out for the Dighani, Turismo Avalanche, the return of of the pretty Stylus and more. Elsewhere in the main halls you’ll find many other companies revealing brand new demonstrators (see the new AK427, for example) which often incorporate the updates and improvements they’ve been working on during the winter months. Also inside Stoneleigh’s extensive exhibition hall complex you’ll find hundreds of accessory stands, selling everything the car builder could want. Whether it’s a nut and bolt or a complete performance engine, you’re bound to be able to find it here. But if you don’t fancy building your own from scratch, then take a walk into the Cars For Sale hall (at the bottom of 6th Street, near Gate 5) where you’ll find a diverse array of cars up for sale, with prices to suit every pocket. Could this be your introduction to kit car ownership? And just beyond this hall you’ll find the Riot Action Arena. This new feature for 2015 will see some of the most spectacular driving skills you’ve seen and, because it’s inside, it’s going to be amazing, whatever the weather! Head outside and you’ll find the vast Stoneleigh complex dominated by privately owned kit cars displayed on almost 100 different club stands. It’s this extraordinary spectacle that gives Stoneleigh its special atmosphere. Outside you’ll also find lots more accessory stands (just outside the main halls) and Westfield Sports Cars will be putting on an amazing slalom experience in a dedicated area just off Avenue M. You can even book yourself a place in the passenger seat for a small fee, as the company’s hugely experienced test drivers put the cars through their paces. For rather muddier action, Dakar will be in full swing on the 4-wheel drive circuit. Once again, there are rides on offer here, and with four seats, the whole family can enjoy a great experience.
If you’re camping overnight on Sunday make sure you don’t miss The Medicine Man playing in the Warwick Hall from 7pm.

TURISMO OFFERS AFFORDABLE EXOTICA Stoneleigh will be one of the first opportunities to see Turismo’s Avalanche GT, a spectacular panel kit over a Mk3 Toyota MR2. And as the base vehicle remains intact, the Turismo is exempt from IVA testing. The company is also working on a Porsche Boxster based version of the car and, although

If building a full-size car seems a bit daunting, then head along to this new display area in Hall 2 where you can see a number of Hawk G40 and Pathfinder kids’ cars on display and being used in a dedicated demonstration area. Either pedal powered or using mobility electric scooter parts, these cars are great fun. Head to the stand to see them in action and to find out how to build your own.

GD Anniversary Special 2015 witnesses Gardner Douglas Sports Cars celebrating its 25th year in production. To mark the occasion the factory is developing a new version of the GD Mk3. A new wide arch kit can be specified at the time of ordering a Mk3 or it can be retro fitted to existing cars, offering not only a far more aggressive stance, but much wider choice of wheel and tyre combinations. Existing customers can move their back wheels to the front and, with revised rims on the 3-piece front wheels, these can be used at the back, thus offering a major cost saving. The upgrade can either be bonded into the existing wings or fixed to them leaving a visible join in the style of many period racers. First car to be converted (and on show at Stoneleigh) will be the factory demo car, pictured here in its original guise. WHERE TO FIND THEM

STONELEIGH NEWS NEW CAR LAUNCHES RIOT ACTION ARENA New for 2015 is the Riot Action Arena, where autotest genius Ian Chapman will be putting on some amazing driving displays in his mid-engined Riot. If you’ve never seen this before, don’t miss it here. Situated in its own hall, below the Cars For Sale area, the Riot Action Arena will be in action regardless of the weather outside. And if watching the action isn’t enough, it’s planned that members of the public may also be able to get involved via various entertaining challenges. Do you dare to have a go?

MEV MULTIPLE LAUNCHES The tradition of MEV launching a new car at Stoneleigh will continue in 2015 with not one new model, but four! Expect to see a revised version of the

The Midas Owners Club was formed in 1985, so this year sees the club’s 30th anniversary. Several celebratory events are planned throughout the year, the first being run in conjunction with the AGM at Stoneleigh. Visitors to the club stand may even get a slice of a designer cake and a selection from the barbecue! Over the years, there has been upwards of 1000 members of the club, with a current membership topside of 100 and flourishing, enjoying a good quality magazine, newsletters, advice and events. Get along to the stand at Stoneleigh and find out more!

Now located in Hampshire, Stylus Sports Cars Limited is able to support owners of the existing 100+ cars and kits sold in the past, and of course is restarting kit sales. An original Jeremy Phillips penned design, based on Ford Escort and Sierra mechanics, the Stylus is now available again in both live axle and the SSC designed IRS variant. Bodywork is currently a choice of the Stylus ‘Classic’ bodywork and its complementary add-on ‘RT’ wheel arch kit for a more aggressive look. A reworking of the ‘RT’ shape with new moulds is expected to be ready in late 2015. For the immediate future, the company will also be showing their new reworked chassis, based on the MK1/MK2 Mazda MX-5 donor mechanicals, which it is hoped will be well received. So... whilst an appearance at Stoneleigh is early days for the new company, steady development throughout 2015 will see the new Stylus kit product come on stream. The most important message being that the SSC Stylus is BACK!

We are back again in force this year with more cars and more members on hand to answer all your questions. As one of the regular and biggest clubs at the NKCS, we will once again be occupying blocks 120 to 124 in Hall 2 and block 53 adjacent to the Westfield Sports Car slalom. In Hall 2 we are proud to have as our guests a selection of our club sponsors including... Plays Kool Motorsport who can undertake anything from race preparation of your kit car or special or bespoke competition car to the fitting of their bespoke and unique quickrelease steering wheel hub, cages and carbon fibre accessories. Kit car owners and track-day fans are often looking for affordable protective race clothing such as helmets, gloves, race suits and boots and Playskool have a selection of these MSA and FIA approved items for sale, so pop over and have a chat for helpful advice and pick yourself a bargain. Northampton Motorsport (NMS) are well respected industry experts in the areas of engine tuning and chassis set-up for road and race cars. If you popped into NMS’s fully-equipped workshops you’d be as likely to see historic (and often priceless) race cars as you would be to see Westfields, hot hatches and bespoke modern competition cars being put through their paces on the dynamometer. The NMS team will be on hand to answer any of your fuel injection, engine mapping and car suspension set-up questions and can talk you through upgrade programmes to enable you to wisely spend your budget to get the best results. Aerodynamix will be displaying all that is gorgeous in carbon fibre for your kit car, both on their stand and on their display car. The boys will gladly take you through their extensive list of products, some of which will be available for purchase at the show and all of which are available to order at the show for delivery at a time and place of your choice. Along with the hard-core competition cars displayed, we will be displaying a range of Westfield road cars which reflect the main models of the marques’ production from inception to the current day. Their enthusiastic owners will be on hand to chat, kick tyres and talk you through the prospective owner’s age-old question “What is best for me, factory-
built, self-built or pre-owned?” and take you through the benefits of joining the Westfield Sports Car Club. Outdoors on block 53, we will host the biggest selection of Westfields likely to be seen in any one place at the same time. In previous years we have managed to display in excess of 250 Westfields each day so there is bound to be something that takes your fancy for a quick picture or to borrow an idea or two for your own build or upgrade. Many of the club’s grass-roots members can be found in and around our marquee and we welcome one and all to come and celebrate all that is Westfield with us.

The 750 Motor Club was founded in the spring of 1939 with the aim of providing exciting and exhilarating motorsport at affordable prices. 75 years on our mission remains the same, with a whole host of championships and series to suit all drivers and budgets. Take for example our Sports Special Championship, designed specifically for kit cars and enjoying packed grids of well over 30 cars at each race in 2014. Great racing for less than you might imagine.
