SALES TAX A sales tax is imposed on all retail sales, leases, and rentals of most goods, as well as taxable services. The State of Texas imposes a rate of 6 1/4 percent (.0625). As of April 1, 2007, the City of Grapevine imposes an additional local sales tax of 2 percent (.02) for a combined total of state and local sales tax of 8 1/4 percent (.0825). PROPERTY TAXES A tax rate of $0.271811 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of The City of Grapevine. PROPOSED TAX RATE $0.271811 per $100 NO-NEW REVENUE TAX RATE $0.270644 per $100 VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE $0.284638 per $100 The no-new-revenue tax rate is the tax rate for the 2021 tax year that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for City of Grapevine from the same properties in both the 2020 tax year and the 2021 tax year. The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate that City of Grapevine may adopt without holding an election to seek voter approval of the rate. The proposed tax rate is greater than the no-new-revenue tax rate. This means that City of Grapevine is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2021 tax year.
