SAFETY FIRST, ALWAYS. Your child’s health and safety is important to us, below are some safety precautions implemented to ensure campers are safe while attending our summer camps. ✓ Staff will conduct daily wellness checks for all campers. Campers are asked to stay home if they are not feeling well.

✓ Contactless drop-off and pick-up procedures will be in place.

✓ Daily cleaning and disinfection of classrooms, tables, chairs, supplies, and equipment will be performed.

✓ Social distancing of 6ft from others will be encouraged whenever possible.

Summer Camp Adventures Await! Hello! Welcome to our 2022 Summer Camp Directory. As we continue to maneuver through the ever-changing world, we continue to strive to bring great opportunities for you and your family to experience our award-winning parks and programs. Summertime is a great time for playing with friends, exploring the outdoors, and staying active! From summer camps to events, our goal is to stay focused and continue to offer activities to keep the community engaged in a safe environment. Grapevine Parks and Recreation offers swim, summer break, and outdoor camps – just to name a few – where your campers are sure to thrive! With the dedication of our quality staff, participants have the opportunity to spend their summer in a fun and dynamic atmosphere. These activities also allow for educational, social, and physical activity. We are excited to bring an array of adventures and programs to Grapevine. THE REC CAMPS

THE REC SUMMER CAMP This camp is the best way to spend your summer. Campers are led in multiple activities planned for them each week by camp staff. Campers will also be able to swim in The REC Aquatic Center three days of the week. Registration will be weekly and will coincide with GCISD summer break. Get ready to make it a great summer! REC EXCURSION CAMP

This camp is designed for the adventurer inside every one of us. This camp will take participants on a different excursion each day. Please have your camper at the location of the excursion 15 – 20 minutes beforehand for check-in. Campers need to wear appropriate attire for each excursion. Space will be limited per camp. Get ready for a week of adventure and fun!

BIKING GRAPEVINE TRAILS

Campers will spend the morning biking around Grapevine Lake. There are over 67 miles of trails throughout Grapevine and campers will be guided through Horseshoe Trail alongside Grapevine Lake taking in the scenic views. Campers will be provided a bike but are more than welcome to bring their own. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the trailhead of Horseshoe Trail. KAYAKING

Kayaking is a fast growing and diverse sport that all ages can learn and enjoy. In this one-day adventure campers will learn basic kayaking. Campers will learn the basic strokes of kayaking to move in every direction. Water safety will also be taught to campers throughout the day. All boats, life jackets, paddles will be provided. Please wear appropriate attire for getting wet. Day: Tuesday Location: Rockledge Park Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

DAY ON THE FARM

Campers will have the opportunity to spend the morning on the farm. Nash Farm is the oldest intact farmstead in Tarrant County. Students will learn about survival needs like water, food sources, changes in technology and more. Campers will also have a chance to bake fresh goodies. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at Nash Farm. Day: Wednesday Location: Nash Farm Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

LASER COMBAT

Campers will be competing in games of outdoor Laser Tag. Outdoor Laser Combat has all the same thrills and action as paintball but, it’s completely painless! The technology in our Laser Tag guns also means that it’s not possible to cheat like you can with paintball, so Laser Combat in summary, is a painless, and a fair game of action and fun. DOVE WATERPARK

Dove Waterpark offers two slides, a diving board, a lily pad crossing, rock climbing wall and a zero-depth entry, perfect for all levels of swimmers. Campers will get a chance to swim along with friends at one of our wonderful pools. Lunch will be provided including pizza and a drink. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the front entrance of Dove Waterpark. Day: Friday Location: Dove Waterpark Time: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

BASEBALL CAMPS

Grapevine’s baseball skills camp consists of individualized training that focuses on position-specific instruction as well as the mental and physical mechanics of the game. Camp drills are designed to perfect hitting, fielding, throwing, bunting, and base running. Baseball camp includes two days out of the week for a full session or you can attend by drop-in for a specific day. Players 7 through 8 years of age will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Players 9 through 12 years of age will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Soccer Sparks offers participants the opportunity to learn and develop fundamentals and more advanced soccer skills through a variety of drills, fun games and training sessions. ART CAMP

During this camp, students will learn to mix colors, work with watercolors and acrylic paints as a group directed by the instructor. Subject such as flowers, landscape and animals will be drawn and painted. GLAMOUR GIRL

Spend a week creating your own beauty products! You will learn to make your own lip balm, nail polish, fancy bath soap, bath bombs and more. DESIGNING DOLLS

Create your own personalized dolls, while you learn the craft of hand sewing. In this class students make a cloth doll, a flip doll, and a cloth bag to carry the projects in. You will be able to individually decorate both dolls with hair, painting the face, and designing and sewing the clothes. All sewing is hand stitching, this class does not use sewing machines. Got Watersports? Camp Tubular is designed for watersport beginners ages 7 years and up. CAMP SURFER

For most of the camp, about 75%, will take place on one of our professional towboats and campers will be wakesurfing. Other activities include: longboarding, paddleboarding, boat driving and tubing. One day will also include professional photography. New to wakesurfing? No problem, please hop in one of our weekly Surf Classes first. Fridays will act as a weather make up day if needed. MUSICAL THEATER CAMP (AGES 8 - 18)

This is OhLook’s most popular camp every summer! If you love to be onstage or have always wanted to know what it would be like to be in a full production, this is the camp for you! Students will prepare a full musical theater performance that will run in our theater at the conclusion of the camp. Campers 8-12 years old will produce James and the Giant Peach Jr. and ages 13 years and older will produce The Wedding Singer. Students will spend half of their day rehearsing the production and half of their day in classes that cover acting, music, and dance.
