Fort Worth Zoo

Wednesday, March 29

Bus leaves 9:30am, Returns 1:30pm, Fee: $10/person

The Fort Worth Zoo is home to nearly 7,000 animals ranging from more than 500 species, including some that are rare and endangered. Meet the Zoo’s newest giraffe calf, Pele. Then go see the baby Gorilla, Bruno. Lunch will be on your own at the various food locations located in the zoo.

Join us to check out the new Military Museum that has taken the place of several stores in Ridgmar Mall. You will see a vast collection of military gear, vehicles, and supplies. There's even several life size displays showing what our brave men and women endured during times of war. After the museum, we will pay a visit to the food court for lunch and then make our way back to The REC.

Arlington Landfill

As one of the largest landfills in the area, the Arlington Landfill meets the needs of approximately 2.5 million people by providing safe and environmentally responsible waste disposal services. Tour the facility to learn the process! Lunch on your own afterward will be at the Velvet Taco in Grapevine.

Collette will be giving a presentation on the European Christmas Market Trip coming up in December 2023. If you are interested, come and learn more about this trip!

Winstar

This trip is sure to be "slots" of fun! Take a trip to Oklahoma for a full day of gambling at the famous Winstar Casino! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and gambling money will be covered by you!

Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Ever wonder what happens to all the items that you put out for recycling? Take a journey with us to the MRF in Fort Worth and learn all about how recycling helps our environment. We will head over to Esparza's for lunch on your own after the tour.

Samba

Samba is a card game that is an offshoot of Canasta and similar to Hand and Foot. It is played with 4 - 6 players and uses 8 decks of cards. Each player is a part of a team. If you are interested in learning how to play, please come!
