Gratnells is a world leader in innovative storage solutions. It’s a family company, owned and run by the Hudson family with a history dating back over 100 years and today we operate in over 70 countries. Market leaders for educational storage, we also supply sectors as diverse as healthcare, laboratories, museums, galleries, hospitality, veterinary, government, local authorities, automotive, sports and the emergency services.

Our products are made in England in our purpose designed 10,000m2 factory in Harlow, just north of London. Our distinctive plastic trays and associated products are manufactured on the latest moulding machines with the capability to produce thousands of items per day. The adjustable metal frame system is made using specially adapted machines with the tube precision welded, painted and flat-packed for easy shipping and assembly worldwide.

To complement our trays we have a range of die cutting, vacuum forming and silk screen printing machines

producing our tray accessories range that are ideal for customisation. We stock over 400,000 trays for immediate dispatch. Coupled with our own packaging, we ensure perfect, on-time delivery.

Our award-winning trays are specially designed and BSI tested for heavy educational use. The F series comes in an exciting range of over 30 colours and four heights meaning you can choose exactly the storage that suits your needs – from translucent or subtle pale grey, right through to bright orange or purple. More recently we introduced both translucent and kiwi tint options with added antimicrobial protection.

Gratnells SortED is a range of inserts designed to fit in shallow F01 and deep F02 trays. They can accommodate a variety of resources for STEAM activities and are useful in early years for easy deployment of resources throughout the classroom, reducing set-up and take-down time. The bright colours have the added benefit of an antimicrobial additive to reduce surface contamination.

Tray accessories - moulded inserts

These inserts fit shallow F01 trays and can be modified to fit deep F02 trays on request. They are ideal for art supplies or for use in separating and counting exercises for early years and for keeping small parts tidy for STEM activities. Insert Colours: The last two digits of each code represent the colour. 19 for dove grey, 21 for black and 41 for white.

Tray accessories - foam inserts

Our range of foam inserts hold delicate and valuable equipment safely and efficiently. Clip-on lids add an extra layer of security. If a code shows BF02 it is cut to fit a shallow F1 or a deep F2 tray. If it shows BF25, it is for the extra deep F25 tray. The last two digits indicate the foam depth in mm.

Tray accessories - lid printing

Our lid printing service offers the chance to have a logo printed directly onto a tray lid. Choose from 11 Marabu Ink System colours – or even use your own corporate colour – and your screen-printed logo will be prominently displayed for your customers to see.

How to order

1. Choose colour

You can choose from 11 Marabu Ink System colours or you can specify a Pantone colour. One colour per screen print with logo design having solid colours only. No fades or gradients.

2. Send us your logo

We can accept Illustrator AI or EPS files as well as PDF and jpeg formats. Please contact us if you are unsure if your logo is this type of file or if you wish to upload another file format.

3. After we have received your file

After we have received your logo we will email you an image showing your logo in your chosen colour and an example of the logo position in relation to the tray lid.

Lids fit all standard shallow, deep, extra deep and jumbo Gratnells trays.

Individual low frames are available in different configurations from flat shelf and library units to pick-bin style tilted tray units and the ever popular 12 deep tray option. Any extra adder frames can be easily joined to a starter frame to create a long run of storage units along a wall. Designed for ease of installation, these low units can be easily assembled by school staff.

There are total of seven pre-defined tall wall units available. Like the low level units, adder frames can be joined to a starter frame to create many storage options. With safety in mind, all tall frames are supplied with a wall fixing bracket for added stability.

StopSafe runners are used for all pull-out trays in the Callero Custom system. They ensure that trays cannot be pulled all the way out by accident, avoiding tray contents spilling out onto the floor. Trays must be lifted to remove. This added safety feature makes Callero Custom furniture suitable for use by all student age groups.

Built around the iconic Gratnells school tray, Callero Custom storage frames are only 430mm deep meaning teachers can store huge amounts of classroom resources on a very small footprint.
