Can Georgia and Georgia Tech get to the dance? Will a 16 seed take down one of the top dogs? Could the likes of North Florida or SMU finally find their glass slipper? There are plenty of intriguing questions that remained to be answered as the 2015-2016 NCAA Tournament approaches. March Madness grips fans
and non-fans alike across the country. It’s true that office brackets may technically be burning billions of dollars in corporate productivity and inciting an estimated $12 billion in betting globally but it’s difficult to ignore when your sports analysis is paired to go head to head with the analysis of the one that occupies the
12
cubicle next to you. The excitement of a Butler, VCU, Witchita State, or some other long-shot upsetting a top dog is always worth watching. It’s just win or go home, and before every game, each coach, student, and player thinks what if. The what if of every game, keeps people tuning in, brackets reviewed, and money pouring in. The NCAA itself has also raked in billions of dollars in television rights fees, ticket proceeds and merchandise sales, and CBS racks up more than a billion dollars in ad revenue each year. It’s big hopes, big money, and every March, big fun.
