What is our role in MEDE? - Vision Building evidence into education and employment through research
and innovation
- Mission Empowering Educators and Policy-Makers with innovation and
evidence-based research for sound decision-making.
- Aims To establish the main source of information at MEDE To become the main point of reference to all researchers in education and employment
Priorities - Build up reputation and visibility To become a reliable point of reference for research in education and
employment
- Build up a Documentation Centre for research To keep data banks of all research related to MEDE
- Standardisation and simplification of research processes To reduce bureaucracy, paper work and inconvenience to researchers to come to the Directorate to collect the requested approval
Actions - Build up reputation and visibility Ongoing communication with stakeholders within MEDE and other institutions: University of Malta, MCAST, NSO and all the interested parties Establish new means of communication: website and social media
- Build up a Documentation Centre of research and innovation Build up data banks of research that was completed or is undergoing both locally and internationally Coordinate and contribute towards new studies
Publish infographics with main findings of these studies
- Simplification of processes for research approvals Review the processes for research approvals and do away with unnecessary bureaucracy to increase efficiency Implement a one-stop-shop facility where researchers can complete the whole process through as online application that includes the submission of the required documentations

- Literacy attainment in the early years - The effectiveness of new technologies in teaching and learning - The introduction of Vocational subjects in the Secondary
