The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce will hold its 44th Annual Golf Tournament, underwritten by Waste Management, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Rochester Country Club. The format for this tournament will be a Scramble that will begin at 9:00am, registration begins at 8:00am. The tournament fee of $145 per player includes a continental breakfast, greens fee, carts, soda & water, boxed lunch, hors d’oeuvres, clambake dinner, and a player goody bag featuring golf related items. A Top Men’s and Top Women’s team prize will also be awarded. After the tournament, participants will enjoy a clambake dinner along with an awards ceremony with more than $1,500 in player and team prizes will be awarded! Committee News LEADERSHIP GREATER ROCHESTER

Leadership Greater Rochester held its Health & Human Services Day last month, sponsored by Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Class participants were provided with a great deal of information on health care programs and services including value-based purchasing and patient-centric care at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, emergency medical services (EMS) and their role in the community, community-based health services and continuity of care including services provided by Cornerstone VNA, Rochester Community Counseling, Community Partners services, an overview of Live Free Recovery Consultants programs and the Adolescent Intensive Outpatients program. Our thanks to presenters: Tracey Collins, Frisbie Memorial Hospital; Gary Brock, Frisbie EMS; Jennifer Gullison, Cornerstone VNA; Christopher Kozak, Community Partners; Rick Nicolazzo, Rochester Community Counseling; and Bob Faghan and Craig Barnaby, Live Free Recovery Consultants. Coming up on March 6, 2018 will be “Education Day”. Leadership Greater Rochester and Leadership Seacoast are partnering on presenting an “Education Day” in Rochester. The sponsor for Leadership Greater Rochester’s Education Day is Granite State College. This fabulous session will be held at the Spaulding High School and class members will hear from a number of speakers who will provide information on the state of Rochester Public schools, alternative educational opportunities outside of public schools, education reform and pipeline K-adult education.

BECOME A CHAMBER AMBASSADOR— ITS GOOD FOR YOUR BUSINESS Looking for a great way to meet business people while helping your Chamber? Join the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee where you can make connections with members. Committee members become well educated on the benefits of Chamber membership and provided with tools to provide to the members assigned to them. Ambassadors promote and enhance the benefits of Chamber membership, serve as the liaison between the membership, the board of directors, and the staff to ensure member satisfaction. The next meeting of the Greater Rochester Young Professionals will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. The group meets at different locations throughout the year where they will network, tour a few facilities during the year and hear from speakers on various topics. Watch for details on this month’s meeting coming soon. Each month, the group will spotlight a Young Professional on the Move. Member News Bernier Insurance will present an informative course called "Insurance 101" at Holy Rosary Credit Union, 133 Brock Street, Rochester, NH on March 1st, to help familiarize you with industry terminology and show you how to compare policies so that you can be confident when choosing coverage. The Children's Museum of New Hampshire will be offering Science Classes for the Kids. Junior Science Class: Ooey Gooey Chemistry Mondays, March 5-April 9, 1:30-2:15 pm and Thursdays, March 8-April 12, 10:15- 11 am. How about "Submitting Your Artwork to Stock Photo Agencies"! This class covers some of the main stock photo agencies available, what their needs are, getting started, submitting your work, and methods of payment; it runs on Friday, March 16, 6:00-8:00pm. For computers, "The Joy of PHP" will teach you to design your own browser application using PHP and MySQL; this runs Mondays, March 12-April 16, 7:00-8:30pm. Members of the Rochester Lodge of Elks #1393 celebrated the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States turning 150 years old. On February 16, 1868, a group of men got together in New York City that has developed into an organization that is now 150 years old with over 2,000 local organizations and 850,000 members throughout the country. The Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing will host an exhibit during the month of March called Right Brain, Left Brain, Beautiful Things featuring the work of Rochester artist Michael Fortier. Michael Fortier is Founder and President of Mikrolar, Inc. of Hampton, New Hampshire, makers of high precision positioning systems,known popularly as robots for use in a wide variety of bio-mechanical and industrial applications. On Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, come, see, learn, donate, volunteer at the "Volunteer Faire". Meet representatives from local charities and learn what you can do to help. This will take place at the First Church Congregational Fellowship Hall, 63 South Main Street in Rochester. Attendees should use the Liberty Street entrance. The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is proud to present the fourth edition of SHORTS, an evening comprised entirely of short films from around the world. National Wear Red Day is an awareness campaign by the American Heart Association, supporting women affected by heart disease and strokes. Service Credit Union, who raised over $2,000 in their 10th annual drive. CRITERIA EVALUATION

Scholarship(s) will be offered to a graduating high school student. Student must be employed by or have a parent employed by a Chamber member company for a minimum of six months to be eligible to apply. The applicant must be planning to attend a full-time college, university or technical school with the scholarship being made payable in the second year of enrollment. The applicant must attach a High School Transcript including grade point average. Application must be completed in full to be considered. Additional sheet with information may be attached.
