CHAMBER MEMBERS INVITED TO HELP WITH ROCHESTER BUSINESS RETENTION PROGRAM
The Rochester Economic Development Commission (REDC) and the Chamber partnered in 2019 to conduct a downtown Business, Retention and Expansion (BR&E) survey.
The REDC is ready to start the BR&E program again this summer. Chamber members are invited to volunteer to participate in the program again. This year the REDC has decided to conduct interviews with our manufacturing sector in Rochester. A successful program can encourage businesses to continue to invest in our community, assist with any expansion efforts or potentially find a business that needs assistance.
Below are some bullet points on what will be required of the volunteers. This is a great way for us to get out and see how businesses are doing and if there is anything we can do to assist them.
• You will be teamed up with an REDC member and given a list of businesses (hopefully 4 or less) to reach out to.
• Your team will make contact and set up interviews to conduct the survey.
• On May 23rd from 4:00-5:00 pm, the City’s Economic Development Department will hold a brief training on how to conduct the interviews.
• At the training you will get assigned your team and given surveys and other resources that may be useful to the businesses you visit.
• Once those surveys are completed you can turn them into the Economic Development Department. The department will then report any findings and follow up with any businesses that requested more information. There is not much to it, and you get to visit some of our great Rochester businesses. Most businesses if you meet on site will most likely offer a tour as well. Please let Laura or Tanya know at 603-332-5080 to indicate if you are interested and can make the May 23rd meeting. If you are interested and can’t make the meeting on the 23rd, Jenn Marsh, REDC, can decide to schedule another training session.
