Committee News

Let’s Paint the City Blue! The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Rochester Rotary Club, Holy Rosary Credit Union, Rochester Elks Lodge 1393 and Rochester Main Street have joined together again this year to recognize the positive impact the Rochester Police Department has on our community. The goal is to have business and community engagement with visual displays throughout the City to show support for our men and women in blue including decorating public spaces and have residents and businesses participate by decorating their property with blue lights, bows, garland and signage on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The group is currently seeking approximately 30-40 business partners to contribute $100 as a Partner or $250 as a Flag Sponsor by August 10, which will be used to purchase supplies for this effort. Any questions may be directed to Committee Co-Chair, Lisa Stanley at 603-3325506 or email admin@witwaysupply.com. For more information, visit www.rochesternh.org/RTPOD or on Facebook at @ThankARochesterCop. Please join us in this great effort to thank our local police.

A Decorating Contest is being established and judges will travel around the city to see which business and which residence has the best display. For residents, the First Place winner will be awarded $250, the Second Place winner will receive $150 and the Honorable Mention Prize winner will receive $100. Decorating Contest prizes are sponsored by Hervey’s Tire Co. Inc. The winning business will be awarded a plaque, and will also receive a complimentary e-blast, sponsored by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. Those wishing to have their business or residence judged should contact Tanya Hervey at tanya@tanyaleeherveyphotography.com See the enclosed Decorating Contest flyer.

LEADERSHIP GREATER ROCHESTER CONDENSING PROGRAM You spoke—we listened. To continue the value of the Leadership Greater Rochester program in a shorter timeframe for participants and their employers, we are shortening the time period of the program. This valuable program will now begin in January and end in May. The same content will be incorporated into five full-day sessions rather than half-day sessions over a 9 month period. Sessions include participants learning about and meeting experts in the city, region and state on Arts & Culture, City Government, Criminal Justice, Education, Economic Development, Health & Human Services, Non-Profit organizations and more. In addition to sessions, experiential assignments are provided. Consider participating or sending an employee to learn more about the community and meet those involved. Applications are enclosed herein. Visit www.rochesternh.org/leadershipgreaterrochester.
