“O

LETTER ut with the Old. In with the New.” Well, the last I knew, we were still in warm weather wondering if winter was ever coming. Not only did winter hit, but the New Year has begun!!!

What a ride in 2016. The crew of Garage71 and Grease Inc. recorded thousands of road miles. We replaced a transmission in our box truck and ordered a new Monster Transmission for our ‘60 Ford pickup. I can’t count the tires replaced this year from trucks to trailers; it adds up. We have been up and down the east coast, and we took our yearly road trip to the desert for Rockabilly on the Route in New Mexico. So, what’s planned for 2017? That’s what you need to be watching! We are already locking in dates for many of our return events including Rockabilly Rumble in August, Monster Mash in October, Hell on Wheels at the end of September, and Rockabilly on the Route in June. Let me tell you though, there are going to be some new and exciting events coming this year!!! I really wish we could announce them right now, so you can block your calendar for some of these dates. I truly believe that these are so good, you will have no choice but to come and be a part of them. This year heads into the 9 lives of Grease Inc. and Garage71. When November hits, it will be nine years that the crew has run the streets as the Garage71 wrecking crew. Over the last eight years, I clearly remember how it all began. Three of the crew, Rev. Andy, Stretch, and myself did a basement launch of Garage71 radio. No frills. No buffers. Nothing but a dream and a goal. Over time, we have been so excited to take part in many events that at one time we were merely spectators. We have become friends with many great people coast to coast and have established ourselves within an industry we still today emulate and respect. We are far from being done and our dream has evolved like the trends in our lifestyle. In 2017, our goal is to touch our readers in a way that creates a bond that carries to the street. We live each day to experience our lifestyle the way we want, and hope to share life moments on the road through pictures and great stories. We look forward to working with, and for, local businesses harder each day. We are always coming up with new twists on old traditions, so we can keep it fresh and real. Make sure you keep up with us this year on-line at all our various social branches of Grease Inc. and Garage71. Make sure you follow our Dj’s and show hosts on their pages. They love to hear from you. We wish you all a very happy New Year! www.facebook.com/greaseincmagazine Twitter: Garage71 Radio Instagram: @greaseinc #garage71radio

As we roll into the new year, what better way than to cruise in style with Big Casino and his 1966 Lincoln Continental. Running the streets under a few various alias names, Big Casino, aka Carlos Bickers, owner of B3 bar and grill, has a featured parking spot at the front door under the Miller High Life mural. Big Casino continues to step up his local game with some pretty kool rides, except when he decides to set them on fire in the parking lot. That's another not so funny story, but we share for a good laugh anyway. We want to thank Big Casino and the crew at B3 for many years of loyalty, support and creating some great events like the Rockabilly Reckoning, coming again this summer. Here is just a little glimpse into the collector's world of hidden treasures working with some great builders at Metal Union Speed Shop and David Crankshaw.

I

t’s time to ring in the New Year! I’m welcoming in 2017 with huge anticipation of what it will bring. I’m ready for a fresh start, and I’m ready to do it with style and grace. I hope everyone is able to reach for the stars this coming year, meet their goals, and make an impact on others’ lives. Now let’s get down to business with the style part!

greaseinc.com greaseinc.com 2016 | NOVEMBER | JANUARY 2017

For January, I am showing a dazzling hand embellished flapper-inspired dress from Gatsbylady London. This is the most amazing look for a special time like New Year’s! My style is the Betty Vintage Inspired Fringe Dress in Black. It is sheer tulle with beads, sequins, and fringes. It has such pretty details! The work is hand applied too! It has a v-neck front and back. The dress also comes with a separate lining. It runs true to size, so order accordingly. They offer sizes from US 2-26! You will feel absolutely gorgeous wearing one of Gatsbylady London’s creations. Not to mention the urge to bust out dancing and shake

There will be a style for you at Gatsbylady London, whatever your special occasion is, whether it’s a Wedding or a New Year’s party dress. your fringe! You can complete your look with one of the many headbands, bags, shoes, shashes, jewelry, and more they offer. The headband I’m wearing is the Ritz Vintage Inspired Headband in Gold and Black. There will be a style for you at Gatsbylady London, whatever your special occasion is, whether it’s a Wedding or a New Year’s party dress. You’ll love the beauty and quality, I promise! Gatsbylady London started designing clothes as a little girl and working in factories. She always wanted to learn about sewing and designing. She attended the University of London, as well as a MSc degree in Fashion from one of the leading universities in Great Britain. After working in the high fashion field, she always dreamed of designing the way she felt each day. Gatsbylady London was born and we are loving it!

Ms. Whitewall Nationals 2016 Andrea Melano DOB: 08/24/1992 Hometown: Salinas CA Single or Married: Single but my heart is taken <3 Favorite Color: PINK PINK PINK!!! (pastel pink) Hobbies: I love to salsa dance; I have been dancing for 6 years now and on a normal week I will go dancing 2-3 times. Dancing is a passion of mine that helps me relieve stress and encourages my alter ego to come out. I tend to be reserved, shy, and sweet but when I am dancing I am a spicy and sexy Latina who is not afraid to have fun and shake my bon bon ;). I also like to sew It’s a new found passion in which I can blend my love for Disney and vintage and create vintage inspired Disney outfits just like Giselle from enchanted. Lastly but definitely not least I love to help my community whether it be by spreading the word about local fundraisers and volunteering opportunities or volunteering myself. I do not associate with any particular organization because I like to keep myself open to help anyone in need. Education: I have recently graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in Agriculture Science and a minor in sociology. I went to Cal poly initially believing that I was going to become an elementary school teacher and implement activities and programs similar to 4h and FFA(Future Farmers of America). After 3 Years of following that dream I decided that I wanted to do more. I want to help a child alter their life course when they are headed down a rough and dangerous path. I knew I couldn’t do so as a Teacher. It was then that I decided to become a social worker. For this reason I have a minor in sociology and hope to go back to school to get a masters in social work. Occupation: I currently work at the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo as a Resident Service/Property Management assistant. My position allows me to be a liaison between the “creator and enforcer of rules” (property management) and the “social worker” of low income housing (resident services). I work closely with all low income housing residents including elderly, disabled, children, and adults. We are in the process of building a complex for veterans only and will also have the opportunity to work with veterans too. Our goal is to ensure that all our residents can become self sufficient and thrive in our community.

Pets: I do not have any pets other than my Venus Fly Trap named Fat Patricia (which is a plant, I’m not sure that counts) but I am saving up to have a miniaturized piggy as a pet and I shall call her Penelope Rose Pork Chop Favorite Food: I love anything Mexican especially when it is homemade. Nothing beats mothers cooking! Where is your Favorite place to eat out? I LOVE to eat Teppan Grill. It is what I eat on my birthday every year because it is so amazing. I always order chicken and filet mignon which is why Ii limit myself to once a year. What type of Music do you like? I listen to music depending on what mood I am in but I listen to Disney Music, Elvis, K-pop, anime cover songs, Kizomba, acapela music, and music from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I have a very eclectic taste in music and it seems to match my personality. I just love music in general because every song is the artist giving you a piece of them. What is your favorite Band? I can’t just pick one so I will give you my top 2: Inazuma and Hard 6. Favorite Song? My favorite songs change quite often, I would say weekly honestly. At this very moment I love a Kizomba song titled: Tourner La Page by Zaho What is your favorite Movie? My favorite movie of all time has to be Enchanted What type of Hang Outs do you go to? Does Disneyland count? I live in a small town and im very limited on hang out spots but If im not out dancing salsa then I like to hang out with my pin up dolls at a bar with a glass of wine on one hand listening to live bands. I especially enjoy Sort This Out Cellars in Solvang. What is your Drink of Choice? A glass of red wine What is a Turn On? TATTOOS… but really eyes! Eyes are the windows of the soul and you can tell a lot by looking into someone’s eyes. What is a Turn Off? When someone is insensitive and rude Do you change your own oil? No I break anything mechanical or electronic . Im pretty handy and can fix/ build anything I set my mind to, but put something like a car or a computer in front of me and it falls apart.

A boy was walking down the shore of a beach when he realized that millions of starfish had been stranded due to a storm. He then proceeded to pick up the starfish one by one and throwing them back in the ocean. It was at that time that a man comes over to tell the boy “you cant possibly make a difference, there is no way he could save all the starfish”. The boy responds by saying “I am making a difference for this starfish,” as he threw another starfish into the sea and continued Moral: “We can make a positive difference in our communities even if its only one small action at a time. Never think you are too small to make a difference.”

Best Biker Bar and Cruise-In B3 Bar and Grill for the 4th year in a row, has been recognized as the Best Biker Bar in the Southeast according to their loyal customers and readers of Grease Inc. Beginning with B3’s history of owner, Carlos Bickers, aka “Big Casino”, when he made a knee jerk decision to purchase and open a bar in 2012 till now, B3 has become a home for many regulars as well as to many passing through town. Known to host shows with names like David Allen Coe, JB Walker and the Cheap Whiskey Band to the Koffin Kats and more, B3 has grown into venue that has influenced the local dynamic in music and lifestyle. Supportive of many local charity events as well as home of the Rockabilly Reckoning, B3 continues to prove attitude does have a meaning, and that is that B3 is here to be recognized as the 2016’s Ink and Oil Biker Bar. Make sure you follow B3 Bar and Grill on facebook and hang with the crew of Garage71 on any given Sunday for their Sunday Cruise-Ins with JB Walker and Miller High Life.

Best Dive Bar For another year, the Beer Barrel, located around the corner from the Big Chicken in Marietta, at 1294 Roswell Road, has been named best DIVE BAR of 2016! The Beer Barrel is your local watering hole where everyone knows your name. This is a joint where no one is a stranger by the time your visit at the bar is over. It’s always 5 o’clock here at the Barrel, with locals bringing in crockpots of food for “happy hour”, to stopping in for a few drinks as the day comes to an end and the evening begins...The Beer Barrel is the dive bar you can call home...

Best Restaurant and Best Patio/Deck It’s always a great introduction to new experiences and places to go. This year, we get to add the Rusty Barrel on to the stops with the crew at Grease Inc. located at 138 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta, Georgia. “Love this bar, my kind of place. OK I’m not going to sing the song, but the renovation of this building is phenomenal and the staff beyond expectation. The kitchen was very good with a small menu, but I’ve tried everything on it and it was all excellent!” Looks like we all have a new spot to support this winter and next season...

Best Greasy Spoon With great pleasure, it’s about time we get to announce the iconic Waffle House as the Ink and Oil Best of 2016 pick for Best Greasy Spoon. Anyone visiting the southeast has to be introduced to this local favorite based out of Georgia. Since 1955, Waffle House has served hundreds of thousands of locals and travelers with a tradition of short order cooks and limited staff with attitude, great smiles, good laughs and tons of great people watching. “The Waffle House is everywhere in the South. It has inspired country songs, comedy routines, loving editorials, a scene in the movie Tin Cup, and even web sites and Internet newsgroups that breathlessly post late-breaking developments. With more than 1700 locations in 25 states, as far north as Ohio and as far west as Arizona, Waffle House is cherished by thousands of diners. Regular customers speak of its employees, its customs, and its food with near reverence. Touring musicians have been known to eat five meals a week there. Yet the Waffle House is so pervasive, it is invisible. It does not advertise; it hides in plain sight.” - Jim Ridley

Best Man Cave This year’s choice is past along to Mule Camp Tavern located in Gainesville, Georgia at 322 Spring St SW. Known to the locals as a place to chill and relax, listen to great rock n roll and get some good food. But, the Mule Camp is also very well known to take it to another level during the weekends and becomes the place to rock it out as the gateway to the North Georgia Mountains. “I came for the music. The fact that a NYC band was playing at this establishment was the initial lure, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food and staff. The atmosphere is fun - music or no music. The fact that it can entice bands with great talent - not just regional - shoots it to a 5 Star rating for me. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed.”

Best Burger This year’s pick goes to another local favorite, Darwin’s Burgers and Blues, currently located at 1598 Roswell Rd, Marietta, Georgia. Darwin’s, recipient of the “Keeping the Blues Alive” award, has been a long standing community venue nestled in the heart of Marietta, a thriving artist community in Atlanta. This year, Darwin’s has been selected as the Best Burger with creations like: the Big Bang, the Memphis, the Evolution and the Mammoth; a double patty burger stacked with chili, mustard, onions, cheese, fried jalapeno and BACON!!! Head’s up for the new year, Darwin’s Burgers and Blues will be relocating to 234 Hilderbrand Dr. in Sandy Springs, where the old Steve’s Live Music was located. “We’re here to make it better than it has ever been! We’re bringing back all of the old Darwin’s alumni as well as some fresh talent in the Blues community! Chef Akin is heading up our BRAND NEW kitchen. Yes, it’s bar food, but with a whole lot of love and soul! Good things are coming soon.”

Best Bartender An overwhelming response came “pouring” in for this bartender who makes a mean drink when requested. Brooke Roberts of the Beer Barrel is this year’s locally praised bartender of 2016!!! The Beer Barrel, already recognized as one of Atlanta’s best watering holes, plays host to an awesome staff of bartenders. Brooke shines with always a bright smile and a tough girl attitude! Brooke has become a mainstay at the Beer Barrel, reminding all that visit Brooke, it’s time for some good laughs and free flowing shots to celebrate your vote in the Ink and Oil awards.

Best Server One of our favorite gals in the local scene, Melissa Merritt, has your vote again for this year’s Ink and Oil awards. Originally from Montana, this gal has made her home at B3 Bar and Grill in Austell, Georgia. Melissa is your rock star behind the bar and on the floor at B3. Whether you are a regular, a frequent guest or it’s your first time at B3, Melissa’s smile will steal your heart and sometimes your money, pouring you up some of the best drinks and serving some of the meanest wings in town!!!

Best Local Micro Brewery Hands down, Reformation located in Woodstock, Georgia was this year’s pick for the Ink and Oil best Micro Brewery. “Beer is a good gift and should be free: liberated from institutional taste, intolerable trends and societal extremes.” Reformation strives itself and it’s beer on 6 core values: humility, acceptance, the story, authenticity, moderation and humor. Located at, 500 Arnold Mill Way, Suite A, Woodstock, Georgia, Reformation Brewery offers public tours for $15, and admission includes free tastings and menu of free takehome beer options.

Best Place to Bring a Date Not knowing if our readers meant best place to bring a date or get rid of them by sacrificing them to the haunted ghouls of the night, Netherworld strikes the southeast as the top place for 2016 as date night! Since it began 20 years ago, Netherworld has been voted one of the top haunts in America (often landing in the #1 spot) by such credible sources as USA Today, DreadCentral.com, Fangoria and AOL and in 2015, Netherworld was named the #1 Haunted House of All-Time by Halloween/Haunted House industry megasite, Hauntworld.com “Netherworld is a self-guided, dark attraction known for its over-the-top special effects, elaborate costumes, one-of-a-kind monsters and chilling detail. Every night the attraction is open, 100+ actors are transformed into monsters to scare and entertain the guests. Some perform stunts such as bungee jumps and sliding. Visitors have come to love and expect the nightmarish creatures that stalk the parking lot before the haunted house even begins... starting the experience from the moment guests walk on the premises.”

Best Motorcycle Dealership Hellbender Harley-Davidson is recognized for the second straight year in a row as dealership of the year in the Ink and Oil awards. Hellbender has a staff any dealership would be proud of. Their Sales staff is not only courteous and knowledgeable, they are proud Harley-Davidson bike owners able to guide you though the sales process. Make sure you stop by at 993 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, Georgia and follow them on-line at https://www.facebook.com/HellbenderHD. “I was recently in the market for a new steel horse. I tried a couple other dealerships (no names) but just couldn’t get the deal I wanted. So I was trying one last time at HB, and the deal was made! I am now the owner of a 2016 Road Glide Special. TJ, and Alisa where awesome, I was looking at a used street glide at first. But they insisted that I test ride a road glide. I did and loved it! The whole staff was really great, they seem like a big family. I will be recommending them to anyone that I know is looking to purchase a Harley. Thanks again.” Derrick F.

Best Local Shop It is always good to recognize local shops, especially in such a ‘cut throat’ business where attitude is just as looked at as what you have to offer. Well, not only does this shop have an attitude, it offers so much more than any average shop, it is hard to believe we are lucky enough to play host to John Landstrom and Blue Moon Cycle in the Southeast. Blue Moon Cycle is a local shop nestled in old town Norcross, Georgia featuring some of the hardest to find motorcycles across the globe. Though John has a passion for his collection of vintage motorcycles, it is his wealth of knowledge and history that truly escalate Blue Moon to one of the best shops when it comes to motorcycles. From the war room to the balcony circling the entire top portion of the shop, Blue Moon Cycle either has what you are looking for or the knowledge to lead you in the right path to locate those impossible finds. Interesting enough, though vintage inspired, Blue Moon continues to set trends working with brands like Zero, an American based electric motorcycle and the Ural based out of Russia with an attractive price providing a great vintage look with sidecar at another attractive price. We will be conducting an in depth exclusive interview with John later this year on the Dashboard Confessional. There, we will share detail accounts of John’s past and what he still has in store for Blue Moon Cycle and the motorcycle community. Keep checking in with us for more information, but until then, check out Blue Moon Cycle at www.bluemooncycle.com.

Best Local Hot Rod Shop Atlanta Speed Shop has been voted this year’s Ink and Oil awards Best Local Hot Road Shop. Julius Hughes, Jr., owner, graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1959 a shop was opened for Engine Design/ Application. It all began in historic downtown Atlanta, behind Julius Hughes, Sr’s home in Ansley Park. The first official Atlanta Speed Shop became a success, opening it’s doors in Lakewood through partnership in the 60’s. The two partners, Julius Hughes, Jr. and Wally Taylor’s success was due in part to their exclusive ownership of a Stewart Warner Balancing Machine. Mr. Taylor’s father, a sales representative with Stewart Warner, made the purchase of this piece of machinery possible. Still today, loyalty goes a long way in the Kustom Kulture Lifestyle. Following in the footsteps of his father, Julius Hughes III earned a Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. After many years of apprenticeship, he purchased the Atlanta Speed Shop in 1988. In 2000, Julius Hughes, III purchased Industrial Property in Gainesville, Georgia. A 17,000 sq ft shop building was designed and built by 2004 and is currently in full operation and achieving great success with a staff of Engineers, Machinist, Fabrication Specialist, Mechanics, and Office Assistance. Stop by anytime at 1572 Fullenwider Road, Gainesville, Georgia.

Best Service at a Shop Killer Creek Harley-Davidson, voted this year’s Best Service, opened for business in north metro Atlanta in the city of Roswell, Georgia in September 1999. The 30,000+ square foot building was modeled after one of Harley-Davidson’s original factory buildings located at 3700 W. Juneau Avenue in Milwaukee. When you visit Killer Creek Harley-Davidson, the first thing you will see is our service department. This is no coincidence. Their commitment is to provide Atlanta area bikers with the best service in the South. This is what separates Killer Creek H-D from the pack. Having nine full-service bays each with 2 lifts, a full detail bay, a dynometer, and a full-service machine shop including boring bar, honing machine, hydraulic press, bead blaster, a milling machine and a full line of specialty tools, Killer Creek’s service is above all when it comes to Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. In addition to their large shop, Killer Creek H-D has a 6700 square foot indoor storage area to ensure your motorcycle stays indoors, safe, and dry when not on a lift. The technicians are factory-trained and are continually upgrading their knowledge through factory-sponsored education programs as new products and technology develop. They have a commitment to render you their finest work.

Best Pin Striper We stumbled on this very humble musician over the last couple of years and fondly became a follower of his artwork that he never shared until recently. Tony Dinneweth, fill in drummer for so many bands around the Atlanta area, has been voted as the Best Pin Striper up and coming in this year’s awards. Currently playing with the Casket Creatures, Tony is no stranger to the kustom kulture or lifestyle. Tony has amazing talent when it comes to art. From music to painting, Tony expresses attitude, positive vibes and always how to get people to enjoy a moment. It has been great to see Tony “come out of the closet” when it came to Pin Striping. He will be recognized locally as a great artist. Look him up on-line at www. facebook.com/anthony.wayne.7587

Best Craftsman Justin Roberts, owner and creator of Whisker Whiskey Beard Products, has been named Best Craftsman. In a competitive world, it’s always a challenge to compete with established brands and products, but Whisker Whiskey Beard Products has created a unique brand that is standing the test of time as well as positive support from users. “Whisker Whiskey is a premium beard oil that will help your beard grow stronger, thicker, and faster, while getting rid of “beardruff” and that itchy feeling!”, says owner Justin Roberts. To order your beard oil to carry you into 2017, go to: www. whiskerwhiskey.net

Best Rally We are always looking for new places to go to, but you can never forget some of the best times either. It was great so many voted Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally as this year’s Ink and Oil awards for best regional rally. Whether you head down in the spring or fall, Panama City Beach has supporting riders and cruisers for many years. The crew of Grease Inc. and Garage71 are no stranger to many of a night on the boardwalk or waking up to a Bloody Mary at Ms. Newbies. Good friends from builders to entertainers has been invited guests to many venues at Thunder Beach and the crew anticipates Thunder Beach to continue to grow in a positive direction welcoming riders nationwide to enjoy great local rides, national acts, crystal clear ocean and some of the best weather you could ask for when cruising the beaches... This year, make sure you hang with our good friends, Captain and Maybelle at the Boardwalk Beach Resort.

Best Local Event Rockabilly Reckoning has hit the charts this year with an overwhelming choice for best local event. From outdoors to inside, B3 Bar and Grill with guidance from owner, Carlos Bickers, has stepped into a vacated role when the local scene needed a solid choice to house an abandoned event at the last minute years ago. Now, the Rockabilly Reckoning has continued each year following with a car show attracting cruisers from the entire southeast, some great rockabilly and psychobilly acts including the Koffin Kats, Motorbilly, the Tremors and Krank Daddies to name only a few. Every July, you’ll see the parking lot of B3, closed for an outdoor festival, vendors, burnouts and beer garden. Late into the evening the party continues indoors with more music, a barber shop, pin-up contest and so much more... We will see you at the next “Reckoning”.

Best Music Venue The music scene has gone through some serious changes in the southeast over the last 20 years. Many of the great establishments that once packed the floors to sold out shows night after night are now closed and have been replaced with other options to listen to music without ever attending a show. Well, Atlanta is no stranger to loosing some great venues. With an overwhelming response and sadden loss, we are happy to announce while saying goodbye to the Masquerade as 2016’s Ink and Oil’s best music venue. Located on North Avenue in the heart of Atlanta, the Masquerade within her three levels of Heaven, Hell and Purgatory, played a large roll for decades to host mega stars to local hopefuls. The Masquerade will be missed as “corporate” production and progress continue to take over Atlanta, continuing to dilute an already culture starved city. The venue has moved, and we wish them great success. The fact though is nothing can replace a century old cotton mill or the property that housed some of the best music from the 80’s until just recent. The Masquerade created an opportunity for musicians and other acts and festivals when Atlanta had that sense to support the local arts. Well deserved, the Masquerade is recognized throughout the southeast of one of the best venues of her time.

Best Local Artist and Band It’s a pleasure to announce that Georgia’s Music Hall of Fame inductee, JB Walker and the Cheap Whiskey Band has been voted both best local artist and band for Ink and Oil awards. We have been long time friends of JB now, it was great to see the massive rally voicing support for a band that has given so many years to entertain us. From flying overseas to entertain our soldiers during their service to decades of performances at the world famous Iron Horse Salon for nearly 30 years with longtime friends, David Allen Coe. JB Walker is no stranger to the Garage71 studios with releasing new songs on-air with RadioFox to most recently revisited acoustic series every Sunday at B3 Bar and Grill weekly cruise-in. We love the title phrase of JB’s slogan, Roll Hard. It shows his passion music. It shows his dedication to live life to the fullest. It shows how genuine and real he is when on stage to give his all to play to crowds of hundreds of thousands to Daytona Bike Week every year.... Roll Hard JB Walker and the Cheap Whiskey Band as this year’s pick!!!

Best National Act As we get the pleasure of reading people’s votes and remarks on their choice for each category, it’s also really kool to see peers that you hold a lot of respect receive the support of so many. This year’s best national act goes out to some great people, that at recent times and discussions, realize in a very humble way that they have made that transition from a local act to a national name. We are proud to announce that World Record title holder Captain and Maybelle are this year’s choice for Ink and Oil’s best national act. From Captain Steele’s swallowing swords 20 feet under water in a shark tank to the flirty sideshow of Ms. Madam Maybelle, these two can entertain and be the center of any event for hours! The married circus act holds the best title as the world’s “most disgusting couple” in America, as they steal the show every time! No problem. If that’s all it takes to entertain you, then so be it! Look for Captain and Maybelle searching this year to break new records and host many of a great show nationwide. This is one show you don’t want to miss!

Best Concert Chris Isaak was by far one of the best concerts any of the crew have seen in quite a long time. We received some great response on the event, the Nashville Boogie in Nashville Tennessee every late spring. This past year was a treat when Chris Isaak was slotted as the event’s headliner at the famous Good Ole’ Opry House. From the acoustics of the historical center to the amazing performance, Chris Isaak and his forever loyal band entertained the crowds for hours. Performing current releases to a collection of music from decades on the road, the performance was flawless. Chris engaged his audience throughout the show with humor, conversations sparking emotions and memories and shared some of the bands most tender moments on the road. This was by far an experience rather than a show. Everyone in the audience was connected not only to Chris Isaak, but with other by the end of the show. There is clearly a difference from a show or concert than from a performer who is truly passionate about sharing his talent and their bands amazing skills during a performance. This was it!

Best Festival We are extremely humble in accepting the votes and choice as Hell on Wheels as Ink and Oil’s Best Festival for 2016. We took the chance on moving the event to a new location in Canton, Georgia, and it was amazing. This is exactly the location we have been searching for years. The old town setting plays the perfect backdrop for a show dedicated to paying tribute to history while celebrating our anniversary with some of the regions industry folks and our loyal supporters. The phrase “Hell on Wheels” was originally used to describe the itinerant collection of flimsily assembled gambling houses, dance halls, saloons, and brothels that followed the army of Union Pacific railroad workers westward as they constructed the First Transcontinental Railroad in 1860s North America, and plays an important part of how our crew continues to pay respect to America and her history. We are already in the works of this year’s event and are calling it the 9 Lives of Hell on Wheels. We will let you know soon details of this year’s event and what’s planned!!! Make sure you follow us on instagram @greaseinc

Best Bike Night When we think of bike nights, some of us that have been around for a while remember those nights where we would rotate between three locations and everyone had a crowd of over 300 motorcycles every day and every week. Now, over the coarse of the years, many have lost sight of what makes a great bike night. Well, not Greenville’s Harley-Davidson and Quaker Steak and Lube. Each and every week beginning as early as March, these two partner up to hire some great bands, seek out traveling vendors, and create an environment that is welcoming to any biker on two wheels. Every week over 500+ motorcycles cruise in to listen to the music, support local business and enjoy a night out cruising the streets to grab a bite to eat. This next year is already in the works on expanding ideas with a Summer Concert Series, new regional and national vendors and more! Nestle in the central location of Greenville, SC, anyone can enjoy a smooth ride into town whether 2 hours away or 2 miles away. This is the place to be seen every Wednesday night during the season. Best Barber Shop Barker-Jackson Master Barbers, located in both Marietta and Canton, are recognized as this year’s choice for Best Barber Shop. With a foundation based on tradition Barker-Jackson offers barber services of quality, expertise and tending to a gentleman’s requirements, including a shot of whiskey if preferred. One of the talented barbers on site at the Marietta location, Darian Weathington, will be part of a traveling barber shop this year covering events coast to coast. He expresses himself through making the gentlemen that come through his chair looking dapper and an image of master barbering. Give them a call to book your next appointment at 678-505-8987

Best Photographer It is an honor to announce Scott Adams Photography as this year’s recipient of the Ink and Oil awards as best photographer. Many do not know Scott like the crew at Grease Inc. Scott looks for the right moments naturally to capture in order to express a complete thought or share a moment caught in time. Scott prefers natural lighting and settings. “Often it is not the planned shot that communicates the story, but the times when we let our guards down and become relax and natural that we capture those special moments.” Scott Adams is the Photography Director at Hot Pan Productions and owner/artist of Scott Adams Photography. Known for lifestyle photography including skateboarding, music events and hot rods, Scott true passion is nature and shooting old abandoned locations where only the walls can tell the real story. Give Scott a call to set up your next photoshoot at 470-955-7870

Best Beard Club We had to wrap up the Ink and Oil awards this year with a special thank you to a group of devoted loyalists and great guys. The Bearded Sinners of Georgia are a group of guys that do their very best on a daily basis to help and support others in many many ways. Their bond is simple, a beard. Their message is strong, brotherhood, dedication, loyal, real. Never asking for anything other than support at times, we have seen these guys collect gifts for the orphanage, feed the hungry, clothed those who live on the streets, install handicap ramps at injured veterans homes, raise awareness about fighting cancer or supporting other any other well deserved cause. They do not ask for thank yous or to be recognized. Many within this crew sacrifice a lot, even when they themselves are in need. These are the men we are proud to call family. Proud to stand next in public at any occasion. Proud to thank them for their selfless acts of kindness.
