BlackBerry Steve Magowan is Vice President of Cyber Security with BlackBerry. A Veteran of the Canadian Airforce, since retiring Steve has spent the past 21 years engaged in a wide assortment of Risk Focused, Data Protection, Security Architecture & Enterprise Risk Management initiatives. and has experience leading Innovation and Forward Thinking Progress across multiple industries including aviation, large energy, mining, automotive, telecom and banking. Prior to joining BlackBerry, Steve was Director of Data Protection with the Royal Bank of Canada’s Data and Analytics department. In this role he was exposed to the immense power of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning) as the next generation tools being leveraged to reduce and control risk in the face of a rapidly evolving global risk landscape. Steve is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX).

Philippe Oille, VP Southwestern Ontario SMB and Partner Sales 11:20AM Rogers Philippe Oille joined Rogers in 2006 following six years at AT&T Canada/Allstream in a variety of roles. Shortly after arriving at Rogers, Philippe transitioned to the Wireless organization where he led a variety of teams as Director Large Enterprise Financial Vertical and Ontario Senior Director Ontario Large Enterprise and Public Sector. In 2016, Rogers consolidated its Wireless, Fibre, Data Centre and Cloud organizations into a single business unit, when Philippe became VP of Sales for Ontario Strategic Accounts & Federal Government. The role soon expanded to include the Commercial business segment and the Ontario Public Sector. In January 2019, Philippe was tasked with leading all business segments for Southwestern Ontario and lead the National strategy for SMB and Partner Sales while leading the Regional Executive Team for Southwestern Ontario.

With offices around the globe, REIS INFORMATICA provides clients with Follow-The-Sun support. He also founded and operates CYBERSCOPIC, a global Cybersecurity firm with offices in Europe, Canada, Brazil, and Malaysia, focusing on Managed Security Services for companies worldwide and right here in the Waterloo Region.

Paul Sammut, Partner, Cyber Security Risk Consulting

KPMG LLP Paul Sammut is a Partner in KPMG’s Cyber Security practice. Based in Ottawa, Paul has over 20 years of experience in IT & Information Security providing Consultancy & Assurance for a large number of Clients across a range of sectors including Technology, Financial Services, Telecoms, Healthcare and Consumer Markets. After 7 years with KPMG in the UK, Paul moved to Canada in 2018 to lead the Cyber Security team in Ottawa and Regions East, across Ontario and Nova Scotia.

And as the world continues to become more interconnected, and reliable connectivity becomes even more vital, Bogdan is leading Dejero in pioneering new blended connectivity solutions—ensuring there is bandwidth when and where it’s needed. He began his career at Research In Motion (now BlackBerry) and has founded several start-up ventures.

Peter Marshall, Manager, Enterprise Security & Technical Risk

Gore Mutual Insurance Company Peter Marshall is a lifelong security professional who has been working in technology and infosec for over 15 years. Currently, Peter is the Manager of Enterprise Security and Technical Risk for Gore Mutual Insurance Company a Property & Casualty insurance provider located in Cambridge, Ontario. Outside of work, Peter has previously served as President of the Rotary Club – Guelph Wellington chapter, and has helped author coursebooks for the Certified Insurance Professional – Cyber Risk course.
