“Triumphant” 30”x40ʺbyJeffDillon
In September the trees in my neighbourhood were already starting to turn yellow, orange, and red. I couldn’t wait to get my paints out and capture the beauty. I imagined all the ways that I could recreate these magnificent colours and decided I would complete a small series of paintings dedicated to my favourite season, autumn.
The fall colours were exceptional this year and each day I hurried outside to observe another tree transforming. I wanted to gather as many references as I could before the leaves started to drop. The sights I saw took my breath away. The hot days and cold nights had set the trees ablaze with colour, harmonized in a way that only Mother nature could conjure.
I have tried to embody the fleeting beauty of this season on my canvases.
I hope that when you see this series you feel as though you are walking through a glowing autumnal landscape.
