MEET THE MENTORS Peter Marshall, Director, Enterprise Security and Technical Risk Function Peter Marshall is a lifelong security professional who has been working in technology and infosec for over 15 years. Currently, Peter is the Manager of Enterprise Security and Technical Risk for Gore Mutual Insurance Company a Property & Casualty insurance provider located in Cambridge, Ontario. Outside of work, Peter has previously served as President of the Rotary Club – Guelph Wellington chapter, and has helped author coursebooks for the Certified Insurance Professional – Cyber Risk course. Kyle Haromy, Network Engineer As a seasoned Network Engineer based in Waterloo, Ontario, Kyle is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex challenges to enhance security and connectivity. His journey in the tech industry has been marked by a diverse set of experiences, from network and systems administration to leading cybersecurity initiatives and completing audits for Fortune 500 companies. Beyond the realm of technology, he is an avid enthusiast of various outdoor activities. He also dedicates time to fostering a collaborative learning environment as he leads a Cisco study group and run a Maker Club, where innovation and experimentation thrive. In essence, his professional journey and diverse interests converge to form a comprehensive profile characterized by technical expertise, leadership in the IT realm, and a passion for exploration and innovation. David Allison, Chair, School of Applied Computer Science & Information Technology David Allison, Ph.D., P.Eng., possesses industrial experience in the field of Software Engineering as an entrepreneur delivering products for industrial partners and research experience in the area of privacy protection and privacy policies in the IT field. David is currently a Chair in the School of Applied Computer Science & Information Technology at Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. MEET THE MENTORS Fernando Castillo, Sales Training Manager Fernando Castillo currently holds the position of Sales Training Manager at BlackBerry. In this role, he collaborates with various stakeholders to provide the sales team with comprehensive product and skills training. Mr. Castillo has also designed specific training programs on a range of topics, including Sales Prospecting and Artificial Intelligence. Before joining BlackBerry, he served as the General Manager of Bittium, where he was responsible for the sale of bespoke cybersecurity solutions to national security agencies in Mexico and Latin America. Prior to this, he held the position of Director for Latin America at Mobile Frontiers. In this role, he advised the Mexican government on vendor selection and terminal development for a national security satellite system. Earlier in his career, Fernando served as the Deputy Director of International Affairs at Mexico’s Telecommunications regulator. He was instrumental in the team that oversaw the deployment of Digital and Radio standards. MENTORING ON: Cyber software and safely implementing AI.
