ART AND COMMUNICATIONS GRAPHIC ARTS In this hands-on program, students learn how to use creaave thinking to produce visually appealing designs, products, images, and works of art and use principles of design as a foundaaon to build their creaave skills. This two-year program uses the latest technology in computer hardware and design sooware to teach graphic design, DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) photography and videography, and a variety of professional prinnng operaaons. Students work with clients and mentors to refine their skills and develop their marketability. A professional porrolio por and website, along with industry skills and experience prepare students to connnue their educaaon or go straight into the workforce. Students have the opportunity to parrcipate and compete in SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon. College credit may be earned at Delta College, Ferris State University, Baker College, and more.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, AND TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND CYBER SECURITY Technology is growing at lightning speed and so are the career opportuniies! In this program, students choose one of the following oppons: Computer Programming, Cyber Security, or Computer Technology and Networking. Students are trained using the latest industry tools and equipment including CISCO, Microsoo, C++, Java, Visual Basic/C#, MIT App Inventor, Python, Wire Shark, Packet Tracer, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Unity, and more! Students parrcipate in project-based learning in a variety of environments including hospitals, manufacturers, IT companies, and more. Business Professionals of America, a naaonal student organizaaon for IT students, offers students compeeeve events to showcase their skills. Students prepare for naaonal professional cerrficaaons and may earn college credits at Delta College and Davenport University.
CULINARY AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT In this professional culinary arts program, students parrcipate in hands-on training within our industrystandard commercial kitchen, preparing delicious meals for customers in our onsite dining room and/or for catered events. The opportunity to earn a variety of naaonal, professional cerrficaaons including ServSafe and ProStart give students a jump start on their professional culinary career. Many students choose to compete in regional, state, naaonal, and even internaaonal ProStart and SkillsUSA culinary compeeeons, providing the opportunity for student talent to be recognized and developed. ENGINEERING, MANUFACTURING, AND INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR AND REFINISHING This Automoove Service Excellence cerrfied program provides students with hands-on training within a stateof-the-industry lab. Students parrcipate in the ICAR Program preparing for industry-recognized Plaanum Cerrficaaon and will learn the technology of repairing, refinishing, and painnng damaged parts and bodies of today’s high-tech automobiles. In this two-year program, students gain real-world work experience in local auto dealerships and repair faciliies. Students also have the opportunity to join and compete in SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon. College credit may be earned at Delta College, Washtenaw Community College, Lincoln Lin Technical College, and Ohio Technical College.
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Construccon is about pride and craasmanship. Whether building a home, an office, or a business, the construccon industry provides a great hands-on career choice essennal in developing our community, state, and naaon! In this program, students learn all aspects of the construccon industry including blueprint reading, safety procedures, carpentry/framing, masonry, roofing, and siding. Students obtain the skills, technical knowledge, and work habits necessary to succeed in the construccon industry. Throughout this twoyear program, students parrcipate in a variety of building projects including learning how to construct a home and other careers such as electrical and masonry. Professional industry-related cerrficaaons and the opportunity to join and compete in SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon, build students’ skills and confidence. ENGINEERING AND ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ACADEMY This unique, cross-training program provides a broad exploraaon of engineering and manufacturing. Using state-of-the-industry tools, students build knowledge in design, roboocs and automaaon, fluid power, manufacturing processes, electrical systems, and more. Project management and teamwork skills are developed through a variety of project-based lab experiences. Exciing compeeeons in First Roboocs and SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon, provide opportuniies for students to showcase their skills. Naaonally recognized business and industry partners offer internships, talent tours, job shadowing, and project-based learning each enhancing students' career awareness, knowledge, and technical skills. College credit may be earned at Delta College.
WELDING TECHNOLOGY Welding offers a wide variety of jobs in many industries including aerospace, automoove, construccon, engineering, manufacturing, and more! This program is offered in cooperaaon with the Plumbers & Steamfifiers, Local 85, and offers emphasis on SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (TIG Arc Welding), and structural welding skills – and, due to an increase in industrial construccon, there are many opportuniies for skilled welders in the Saginaw Region. Students in this program have training opportuniies onsite at Local 85 and may earn state and naaonally recognized welding cerrficaaons and college credit at Delta College and Ferris State University. Uni SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon, also provides a variety of compeeeve events for students to perfect their welding skills.
HEALTH SCIENCES MEDICAL CAREERS Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the naaon! In this program, students achieve a solid background in the fundamentals of health care and explore a wide variety of health careers. A combinaaon of course work including medical terminology, health care concepts, anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, medical law, and more, combined with work experiences at local hospitals, clinics, and health care faciliies provides students with a complete exploraaon of health care careers. Students have the opportunity to earn CPR and First Aid professional cerrficaaons and can enhance leadership and health care skills through parrcipaaon in HOSA, HO a naaonal student organizaaon for students pursuing careers in health care. College credit may be earned at Delta College.
MEDICAL ACADEMY In partnership with Covenant HealthCare, high school juniors who successfully completed Medical Careers or Nursing Occupaaons and are interested in advancing their career in the medical profession during their senior year have the opportunity to take their health care training to the next level. Students study their chosen healthcare path. Through immersive work-based learning experiences onsite at Covenant HealthCare, as well as other area health faciliies, students learn a variety of skills within the workplace from industry mentors. Individualized instruccon is provided by medical professionals in specific fields such as pharmacology, emergency medicine, physical p therapy, radiography, clinical laboratory, dental, respiratory therapy, optometry, surgery, health informaaon services, general praccconer, and more! Students in this program also parrcipate in HOSA, a naaonal student organizaaon for students pursuing careers in healthcare. College credit may be earned at Delta College, Ferris State University, and Davenport University.

NURSING OCCUPATIONS Nurses touch the lives of people through caring. This comprehensive program provides students with academic and technical skill preparaaon in our onsite clinical laboratory where students train daily with licensed, professional registered nurses/instructors, using state-of-the-art simulaaon mannequins. These “Sim” paaents allow students to praccce and perfect their clinical skills in a variety of health care scenarios. Students parrcipate in clinical experiences in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care faciliies to enhance skills and provide career exploraaon opportuniies. Students may complete requirements to become cerrfied nursing assistants and earn up to 20 college credits. Students also become cerrfied in CPR and First Aid and have the opportunity to join HOSA, a naaonal student organizaaon for students pursuing careers in health care. College credit may be earned at Delta College, Davenport University, and Ferris State University.
HUMAN SERVICES CAREERS IN EDUCATION Are you interested in a career that will make a difference in the lives of children and the future of our naaon? Over 800,000 jobs are available in the field of educaaon through 2026! This special program explores a variety of careers in educaaon and human services. Students study the history, development, organizaaon, and praccces of preschool, elementary, and secondary educaaon and have personal experiences in local elementary schools. Students explore and prepare for the following careers: teacher, social worker, school counselor, child care program director, parent educator, child advocate, and human resource trainer. Students also learn about human growth and development, learning styles, effeccve teaching, methods of instruccon, lesson planning, g and more! Students earn CPR and First Aid cerrficaaons, along with training in a variety of human service related programs. College credit may be earned with a variety of colleges and universiies throughout the state including Saginaw Valley State University, Central Michigan University, Delta College, and more! Students in this program develop leadership skills by parrcipaang in SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon.
TEACHER ACADEMY Interested high school juniors enrolled in the Careers in Educaaon Program can apply for the Teacher Academy which offers an opportunity to earn up to 46 direct college credits as part of a CTE early/middle college experience through the Great Lakes Bay Early College. Parrcipaaon in the Teacher Academy is opponal, and more details about this opportunity will be available to qualified students in the Careers in Educaaon Program.
LAW, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND SECURITY This program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for a student to pursue a career in law enforcement, emergency services, security and proteccve services, correccons, and legal services. Topics of study include criminal and family law, juvenile jussce, search arrest and interrogaaon, crime scene invessgaaon, correccons, forensic science, emergency management, and wriien and verbal communicaaon. Students are trained in fingerprinnng, handcuffing, breathalyzer tessng, narcoocs, vice, and accident invessgaaons. Students earn cerrficaaon in First Aid and CPR and prepare to pass the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Physical Agility Test. Students have the opportunity to parrcipate in SkillsUSA, a naaonal student organizaaon. College credit may be earned at Delta College and Ferris State University.

COSMETOLOGY This state-cerrfied program prepares students for the Michigan Cosmetology Exam and licensing process. Students receive hands-on training in a clinical salon lab environment. Training includes hairstyling and treatment, coloring, chemical processes, facials, and nails. Enrollment in this program, offered at a school of Cosmetology in Saginaw County, is limited to high school juniors and seniors who plan to return to complete the program. Students must complete 1500 hours of required skills training to be eligible for the Michigan State Board of Cosmetology Licensing Exam. Students have the opportunity to parrcipate in SkillsUSA, a naaonal n student organizaaon.
NATURAL RESOURCES AND AGRISCIENCE ANIMAL AND AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES Agriculture is the second largest industry in Michigan. Careers in agricultural are vast and go unfilled each year! A wide variety of crops, fruits, and vegetables are grown in Michigan, making it second only to California in the diversity of its agriculture. This program provides an exploraaon of the MANY careers in the agricultural industry. Students learn about the business of agriculture, animal produccon, plant science, soil science, aquaculture, environmental science, agronomy and more! Students also learn about animal science and care. Earn OSHA Career Safety Cerrficaaon and have the opportunity for leadership development and compeeeon through FFA, a naaonal organizaaon for Agriscience students. College credit can be earned through Michigan State University.
CREDITS AND CERTIFICATIONS HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT In addiion to real-world experiences in your SCC career program, you may also earn credits toward high school graduaaon. Credit opportunity depends on program seleccon and student performance. Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements can be obtained through successful compleeon of SCC programs including English; Math; Science; Visual, Performing and Applied Arts, and Online Experience.
COLLEGE CREDIT SCC helps students make a successful transiion from high school to college or work by offering free college credit and industry-standard cerrficaaons. Students earning college credit can save thousands of dollars in tuiion costs and shorten the me they spend in college. Equally important, students with career goals are more likely to complete their college educaaon.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS Many professional cerrficaaons are also available in SCC programs and are provided free-of-charge to our students. These cerrficaaons demonstrate to employers that you have the skills needed to begin your career!
