The second largest number of books in the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) system circulate through this library; readership is high as is interest in Rosemount’s redevelopment and expansion. Dale Carnegie once said, “There

is not such a cradle of democracy upon the earth as the Free Public Library, this republic of letters, where neither rank, office, nor wealth receives the slightest consideration.” Then he backed his words up with over $2.5 million for Ontario public libraries (111 in total) in the early 1900s.
